RE: sins you never said to yourself - Astaroth - 06-25-2026

It’s easier this way, even if the bluntness of his teeth in this shift do make it a bit more difficult. His antlers carve out sections of the wolf, uncaring of the pelt that’s ruined in the process. It wasn’t like wolves were hard to find here in the Grounds, after all. So a few going without saving their furs wouldn’t be too notable.

So they eat quietly, sating the bloodlust that blooms within the two Ancients, and when they finally withdraw from them, dripping in blood and as satisfied as a cat – which he supposes she is – he captures her gaze in the quiet question and reads between the lines as he glances back to the third wolf.

Leaving the one he’d devoured precisely where it is for any scavengers, Asta moves over to the third wolf to bite at its paw precisely the time Sicarius returns to them, clambering up Asta’s leg to his back to curl up there. And between both of them pulling the creature, he’s sure that she’ll have enough for the rest of Deepfrost.

RE: sins you never said to yourself - Thalassa - 06-25-2026

As she expected, Asta seems to understand her silent question, already moving towards the final kill. She glances at what remains of her meal and decides to follow his example and leave it for the scavengers. The other wolf is large enough to last the week of darkness and then some.

Stretching her back paws out of the crouch she'd been in, Thal stalks closer to find her own hold on the corpse. Her eyes catch on the dragon that rejoins them, curious as to whether it eats meat like them and whether it would try to steal their food. But if it does, the companion seems content not to pursue what's already been claimed, settling on Asta's back while Thal grabs the front leg to start dragging. Between the two of them, they manage to move the beast back towards the city where she can find means to preserve and store the kill for the approaching LongNight.
