RE: when you move, i'm moved - Deimos - 06-26-2024

The Sword permitted his observations to take over, instead of the machinations waiting to emerge in the back of his mind. Leaving them for another time, he arched a brow as Amhran seemed to dismiss the meat portions entirely, not a surprise, and then seemed shocked and surprised by the rumblings thereafter. While Erebos kicked and flailed, Deimos rocked him lightly in his arms, pondering over how many other natural circumstances and occasions there would be that mystified and perturbed. Sometimes all those notions were taken for granted in childhood – the distinct wonder and curiosity unfurling in question after question, or drawn, inherent instincts.

[say]“Drinking too,”[/say] he murmured in return. [say]“Would you be able to recognize if you were thirsty?”[/say] Plants snagged at the nutrients and water in the soil, as well as making their own sugars and foods – humans could only do that to a certain degree, and tilting his head, he began to ponder if Amhran would be able to hone it in as a man, rather than vegetation.

Lifting Erebos once more so the child let out a contented squeal, Deimos smiled and snagged at the jerky as he walked back into the kitchen, following through on those thoughts to grab hold of some glasses and water, and returning in time to hear Evie’s inquiry; an answer he wanted to hear as well.

RE: when you move, i'm moved - Amhran - 07-06-2024

[say]"Oh,"[/say] says Amhran in response to Evie's patient explanations - something he doesn't realise he will take for granted in the weeks to come, but silently appreciated nonetheless. [say]"Alright."[/say] Easily accepting of the things he does not know and needs to learn, he takes another nibble of cracker - and is bold enough to attempt a slice of apple as well - when Deimos speaks.

[say]"That I think I can recognise,"[/say] he says with a gentle nod - food is more complicated, yes, but he has been created, at least, with the knowledge not to dehydrate and die within hours. So saying, as the Sword returns with a pitcher of water, the Raeling demigod is able to (clumsily, albeit) pour himself a glass and lift it to his lips. See? Success.

Oh, yes, but his duty. [say]"I remember warmth and light, and a pair of voices like the sun and the soil."[/say] He smiles. [say]"I was created to preserve the balance of nature. To grow, to heal, to tend to it."[/say] Said as if the words belong to someone else (because they do), whilst Amhran has no idea of the context, the current Starfall situation will likely ring bells within both Wardens.

RE: when you move, i'm moved - Evie - 08-09-2024

Her patience will always be there for him - when you grow up in an inescapable bubble with siblings like Sam and Amalia, the development of patience is a necessity of life. Besides, how can she possibly grow tired when he asks with such open-faced sincerity? It’s like Rae knew Evie begged her father for a puppy her entire life and decided to go “not a step-dad but the dad who stepped up”.

His description of Rae resonates somewhere behind her breastbone, and she reaches to squeeze Amhran’s knee gently. Balance is less terrifying a purpose than martyrdom. [say]“We’ll help however we can. The first lesson of balance with a human body is knowing your limits - and we can start with your stomach.”[/say] Grinning, she pokes him in the side, and her smile softens as she glances toward Deimos. Evie hadn’t woken up prepared to add another member to the family, but if Rae is a master of one thing it’s this: knowing the perfect place for a seed to flourish.
