RE: ready or not - Alys - 03-14-2025 Satisfied with her healing measures, Alys slipped from the crowd as they began to grow angry. All she needed was to be trampled by a mob just because she’d chosen to be invisible - or, worse, to be targeted as the source of the fires simply because she had magic. No, far better to escape and leave while she still could. Keeping her illusion magic going, and once again employing her air magic to dust away her footprints, Alys made her way steadily and carefully through the crowd, trying not to run into anyone. Once she was free of the people, she began to make her way towards the base. If she could get there, she’d get another point - and would, perhaps, not come in last in their little game. —- Alys uses illusion magic to hide herself and air magic to hide her footprints. She tries to make it to the base. RE: ready or not - Thalassa - 03-15-2025 Not necessarily surprised by the villagers' response, Thal didn't take it personally. If anything, she relished in the chaos that ensued. She'd certainly prefer running and screaming over having things thrown at her, but at least they weren't boring. And with their attention now diverted to a very large, very noticeable figure, she might go undetected. Shifting into her lava wyrm form again, Thal slipped through the trees, hoping her smaller form might slip by amongst the insanity. Her tongue flickered silently as she moved, slithering through the shadows towards the base in the distance. She couldn't see Mel, but she just had to pray the woman wasn't near enough to see the little glowing creature - or that she was focused on other participants. --- Thalassa shifts into her less-noticeable lava wyrm to slip to the base while the villagers are distracted. RE: ready or not - Melita - 03-16-2025 The crowd loomed and swarmed, but then seemed to be very confused – everyone glancing at one another as the previous creature seemed to materialize into nothing. Melita’s brows furrowed too, though invisibly, huffing a stray puff of air as she managed not to snag anyone nearby. So while Thalassa managed a great escape, not quite efficiently slithering to base but making up large amounts of ground, others weren’t so lucky. Maea, for all her glamour and hidden tactics, was still there and present, filtering her way from the crowd. It was an easy way for the Honeybee to discern her from others, recognizing the cloak, and she shouted across the lane [say]“I see you Maea!”[/say] with a proud outcry. Whether or not the others would be able to discern her whereabouts, based on her screeching, was another thing she didn’t really think about at the moment. And Alys too, though undetected, would find herself jostled in the midst of the crowd, and despite her illusionary incantations, wouldn’t be able to make as much headway. -- [say]Maea has been caught and can go hang out at the bench! Thalassa has escaped the chaos she created, and Alys had a hard time getting away from the crowd. Points: Thalassa: 3 Maea: 2 Alys: 1 Melita: 4[/say] RE: ready or not - Thalassa - 03-16-2025 It was little hard to see everything going on from her place on the ground, but Thal nearly snickered at the confused sounds of the villagers. Apparently, her little plan had worked, leaving her virtually unnoticed as she made her way towards the base, her body slithering easily over the already-charred undergrowth. She even had the pleasure of hearing Maea get caught. Mel's voice was hard to miss after all, even if she was currently invisible to the naked eye. It made Thal's tongue flicker with delight, practically tasting victory already, but she wouldn't let her guard down, moving quickly to eat up the distance between her and the awaiting safety of the base. --- Thalassa continues making her way towards the base in her lava wyrm shift. RE: ready or not - Maea - 03-16-2025 Melita's voice bugled out her name onto the wind, and thus Maea's time of playing games came to an end. As she pushed back her hood and undid the glamour on her horns and tail with a resigned grimace, she cast a look towards the firefighting efforts and decided she may as well lend a hand. Leaving her folded up cloak at the bench where the game had begun, the pale ancient rolled up her sleeves and strolled off to make herself useful. Mainly intent on putting out the fire, she did keep an eye out for any injured, prepared to use her bloodboon if needed. Their little game had resulted in a good deal of chaos, as befitting of both Ludo and Dygra - but given her own need to stay in the village for some time still, it seemed best to remain on the fae's good side. ------- Maea leaves her cloak at the base to represent her, then goes off to help put out fires or heal injured, as needed. aka damage control x) RE: ready or not - Alys - 03-17-2025 The crowd buffeted Alys from side to side, and the seer fought to hold control over her magic as she sought escape from the mob. All in all, she made rather less progress than she’d hoped towards the base, though at least she didn’t get caught. Maea, on the other hand, was not so fortunate, with Melita’s disembodied voice ringing out from somewhere nearby to call her out. The knowledge that Melita was nearby and would very likely catch her if she weren’t careful grated on Alys’s nerves as she continued to press forward, her illusion and air magic working together to attempt to hide not only her body, but her footsteps, as well. Careful where she stepped (in case she cracked a twig or something else to give away her location), Alys made her way steadily back towards the base. —- Alys stays invisible with illusion magic, removes footprints with air magic, and watches where she steps to avoid making noise as she make her way towards the base. RE: ready or not - Melita - 03-17-2025 And then came the finale, as ridiculous as perhaps the first portions. Through the smoke, haze, crowds muttering, Ancients either making it worse or better (depending on which character, of course), some emerged victorious, and others were spotted in haste. Alys, either due to fortune, cleverness, or just another streak of luck, arrived back to base. Her actions ensured she could part through the rest of the divisive indivudals, who were already focused on the flow of flames, to not be bothered by invisible threads parting through. Alas, Thalassa was not to be met with the same fate. Squirmed as she did, her earlier thwarting measures didn’t prevail this time, and she was subsequently spotted as she slithered along the ground. [say]“Gotcha Thalassa!”[/say] Melita hollered from her periphery, and by then, it was all over. Well, Maea was busy with the Fae and merchants, but by the time everything coincided, they could announce winners and all that jazz. Eventually the Honeybee found her way to the top of the safety bench again, visible and tangible now. [say]“Hey congratulations to all, that was fun!”[/say] If the crowd nearby was rolling their eyes, she pretended not to see. [say]“We’ll have to do this in a different place next round!”[/say] So they wouldn’t keep bothering the same regions each time – see Stormbreak from her latest exploits. [say]“Anyway, have a good time out there!”[/say] Or whatever – she wasn’t one for peppy speeches. -- That concludes the Hide and Seek PQ+! Thank you for all for participating in the shenanigans! Points: Thalassa: 3 Maea: 2 Alys: 2 Melita: 5 [FIN] |
