RE: [se] Everything must have a beginning - Talyson - 02-22-2024

Sunjata was already too damn tall normally, but as a hydra he was really big. Watching the three heads shift and twist sinuously around was almost hypnotizing in its own right, and Tal suddenly had a very distinct empathy with small birds confronted with large snakes. Luckily the Flood didn't loom around for very long before shrinking down again, and Tal pushed himself sheepishly to his feet, brushing grass off his butt as he tried to act like he hadn't made a fool of himself in front of his Archon.

"Huh... yeah, that sounds about right," he mused, dredging up memories of the old story book that was the only other place he'd seen a hydra before today. "Never quite figured out how they were s'posed to get back down t'three after a fight, but I guess since you can shift, it just... resets?" Or maybe that was something they'd all learn together when it came up in the future.

Boreal ambled back over to check on them and Tal rubbed her head fondly, lips quirking in amusement as she made her hunger known to him. His expression sobered as he looked back to Sunjata a moment later, however. "We should prob'ly get goin' soon but, uh... when d'you think you'll be doin' th' thing with th'Refuge?"

RE: [se] Everything must have a beginning - Sunjata - 02-22-2024

As he settles from the stretches, Sunjata offers a little wave to the people coming and going, giving Tal a moment of privacy to stand and clean up, before his attention tilts back toward the courier. “[say]It does reset.[/say]” Sunjata confirms, imagining that wild hydra’s likely just kept the amount of heads. Start with three and if anything happens, well, perhaps out there where hydras come from there are some with hundreds, provided they lived that long?

Either way, it doesn’t matter running off of hypotheticals, and instead nods as Tal moves to start his departure and Sunjata glances back toward the ocean. “[say]Not sure. Probably as soon as I can figure out where she is and invite her. In the meantime, just avoid the Refuge.[/say]” Sunjata hums, flashing Tal and easy and carefree grin to try and alleviate any worries that might be held, before offering him a wave. “[say]I’ll let you go now, though. See you later, Tal.[/say]” He hums, stepping away back toward the water’s edge, stepping into the waves again until he’s deep enough to shift into the orca shift within him and vanish slowly beneath the depths – the large, shark bitten dorsal fin slowly sinking under the water as he heads out to get his own lunch.
