RE: the afterparty - Thalassa - 03-08-2025 She dipped her head in silent agreeance to the request before she said, [say]"Don't worry. You'll know."[/say] Thal wasn't the kind to leave her opinions silent. If she didn't like something, she said so, or you would know from the blazing inferno of her eyes that you'd screwed up. However, if it made Maea feel more secure, she would try to verbalize her dislikes more often. But for now, she was suddenly feeling more tired, drained by the drama. Sighing, she pushed on her legs to stand from the chair. [say]"I think perhaps we should get some sleep. The journey to Torchline is long and we should get an early start in the morning."[/say] She could have stayed up all night and still been fine, but it felt like they needed some space, and it was the only excuse she could think of. It was obvious that they still had leagues to go before their relationship was repaired. RE: the afterparty - Maea - 03-08-2025 [say]"Thank you."[/say] Out of steam for arguments or even talking much more, Maea quietly agreed that sleep was in order. Standing a heartbeat after Thalassa, she wordlessly helped to set up the cot for her to sleep on, and retreated to the bed when nothing else remained to postpone the moment. She tried not to feel awkward as she slipped beneath the blanket. While the mattress was warm and soft and perfectly comfortable, it was not her bed. It smelled like Thalassa, the slight divets were shaped after the captain's body and like two mismatched puzzle pieces something was ever so slightly off as Maea tried to settle in. But it was better than the ground, better than the rain, better by far than being alone, so she forced a deep sigh and made her muscles relax one by one. [say]"Good night,"[/say] she mumbled into the dark as lights winked out, leaving only the low glow from the fireplace. Despite everything, she hoped her friend would be able to sleep well; considering the long journey ahead, it wouldn't hurt to start it off refreshed. [FIN] |
