RE: The Punchiest Pool Party - Sunjata - 06-03-2025 It’s a subtle little answer through the Attuned bond to Deimos’ previous question. [say]Knowtbook.[/say] Ronin would know, Sunjata’d mentioned it just briefly before this point. And after, if everything went well and Ronin’s meeting was still on? Gods, does Sunjata have quite the pitcher of tea to spill. But for now, he’s silent, offering a quiet and verbal hello to Alys and Flora reacts with her game of chicken, Frey appears with their binding on the thing pretending to be their host, and Deimos delves into the fold with Remi’s help. Hissing out a curse as Deimos vanishes and the daggers fly, Sunjata’s opportunistic and had already mentioned to Ronin he’d be prepared. And the Flood drifts back into his roots, even if everything in Pierce’s face and shape wants him to recoil from it. He forces himself to get through it, to swallow down the nausea that builds in his throat as he takes off from the perch they’d all made on the outskirts. He darts forward, pulling the two switchblades from his pocket, hoping to follow after Deimos and launch his own blade at the brawler of the Family. Sunjata darts in and throws a regular switchblade at Pierce’s front! Including this bc it’s probably relevant ;-; Magic: Foe of the Family | Is able to see the true form of the Family and those who are Friends of the Family. Void damage is super effective. Type: Dark | Rank: Mastered RE: The Punchiest Pool Party - Vox - 06-03-2025 The moment the first dagger arcs through the air—whistling with the soft kiss of intent gone sharp—Vox sighs like an exasperated wind chime caught in a thunderstorm. And then he disassembles. One second he’s lounging on a void-squid floaty, brim of his hat tilted just so, one elbow thrown out with the louche grace of a lounge singer mid-cigarette break. The next, there’s nothing but static. Not just the sound of it, —the presence. A low, grainy hum that crawls between particles, fills lungs, gums up thought. The sunglasses hang in the air for one suspended beat like punctuation, then vanish too, collapsing into a pixelated wink. He re-coheres—if it can be called that—in front of Pierce. A stormfront in the shape of affection, a group hug given horrible form, arms blooming out like glitching flower stems, like overlapping broadcast silhouettes from three different timelines all trying to embrace you at once. [say]"HUG BREAK~!"[/say]” he chirps, voice multitracked and wrong, a thousand frequencies harmonizing around a word that should not echo like prophecy. [say]"WHO NEEDS CUDDLES???"[/say] To his left, a drink hits the sand and vanishes into fizzing, hissing pixels. To his right, a gust of static catches an errant cocktail umbrella and gently lifts it back toward its owner. He expands. Literally. Horizontally. Emotionally. The embrace radius widens. [say]"Come to me, you emotionally repressed little murder muffins,”"[/say] he coos, radiating waves of unbearable comfort and the scent of expired cherry chapstick. [say]"Violence is a cry for help and I am listening. I am here. I am hug-shaped."[/say] Vox appears in front of Pierce, offering hugs RE: The Punchiest Pool Party - Hawthorn - 06-03-2025 “[say]Promise.[/say]” Thorn says, hesitating before stepping into the unknown bubble as shit starts to get wild. And while, ordinarily, the courtesan is the lover not a fighter type, the young man’s arm clings to Colt’s as his heart lurches into his chest. He sees people spur into motion. He watches as his Archon dives into the fold. He watches and feels absolute discomfort for the sudden shift and horrible resonance of Vox’s voice. And it’s that panic that has him glancing over toward those he knows, his friends that he isn’t beside. Talyson, Koa, just to name a few. And as he turns his attention to Colt, it’s with a quiet whisper of “[say]can ya channel or use magic or somethin’?[/say]” He doesn’t know whether Colt is abandoned or accepted, but he’s fairly confident she isn’t attuned nor ancient given what he does know. So maybe they could do something to help those that are stronger than them? “[say]I can heal, I’ll just.. Help, where I can.[/say]” Thorn’ll stay on the outside of the bubble and can offer healing if anyone needs it! RE: The Punchiest Pool Party - Zavien - 06-03-2025 Zavien barely has time to acknowledge Noah or sort through the small snacks before he gets a very clear, very obvious wink that has him tensing. It's Flora's signal, and he tightens his hand on He looks to Lena, but his gaze is distracted taking in every movement of the other participants, trying not to look so conspicuous as he leans down to whisper, [say]"Be ready."[/say] And then all hell breaks loose. Flora is shouting something to Deimos, Pierce is calling for revelry, and then daggers are flying and Frey is suddenly appearing. Zavien's moving fast, grabbing at their stowed bag to hand Lena her staff and pull his sword from its sheath, the glow of starlight like a beacon for any innocents who may not want to get in the middle of whatever chaos is about to ensue. [say]"This way! While he's contained! Hurry!"[/say] Even as he uses the weapon more as a glorified neon exit sign, he holds it at the ready, prepared to defend the backs of those attacking Pierce or attempting to escape. Zavien grabs his sword and begins directing people away from the fighting. Type: Light | Style: Offensive | Level: Upgraded Starblade | A sword that glows with inner starlight and burns on contact. RE: The Punchiest Pool Party - Melita - 06-03-2025 She frowned, eyes narrowing and arms crossed over her chest as her name was called out by Vox, and then subsequently ignored the entity for other shit going down. [say]“Might be too late,” [/say]she answered Iskra, because while she was all set to become a distraction and start a competitive volleyball portion, Flora had taken matters into her own hands. Then there was Frey. Her uncle. Others launching and scattering. Violence. Smarter individuals would be fleeing, but the Honeybee had already begun drawing at her bow, and the quiver on her back. [say]“If shit gets bad, head to my boat.”[/say] She might be able to only launch one shot as pandemonium went down, and from a decent distance, but she wasn’t going to put Iskra at risk. But this was some opportunity, some melee of vengeance as the static rose and simmered. Small parts in the greater whole and all that. Then she fired a fiery arrow towards the combination of Pierce and Vox, indifferent to which one it hit. -- [say]Melita fires a fire arrow at the Pierce/Vox combination. Type: Light | Style: Offensive | Level: Mastered Bowstring Bracelet | At first this bracelet appears only as a length of intricately braided bowstring, adorned with vinelike patterns and tiny, fanged charms. But with an arrow in hand, upon miming the action of knocking and drawing it, the user will feel a bow beneath their fingers, as if it was there all along. Type: Dark | Style: Offensive | Level: Mastered Fire/Lightning/Ice Quiver | A magical quiver with two compartments. In one, it turns any arrow placed within into a flaming projectile when shot. In the other, the arrow becomes imbued with electricity. There's plenty to grab at her attention when shouts are sounding and weapons are whistling through the air. People move in a frenzy, people running and deities appearing. She can't help the pleased smile on her lips, relishing in the adorable attempts to attack Pierce. 'Worry' doesn't really cross her mind - too confident in the man's abilities - but she still feels the urge to help, a hint of anger tainting her fun. Still propped on the side of the pool, she kicks her feet lazily in the water, ready to leap out if someone gets too close to Pierce or Vox. The glint of a dagger catches her eye, flying towards the brawler's back from seemingly nowhere. Curious - and extremely annoyed - Thal sings a low, allegro tune that guides her own dagger to where she suspects the culprit lingers under the guise of invisibility. Thalassa stays ducked at the edge of the pool, discretely attacking with her Flametouch Dagger (1) in the direction of the first attack (invisible Deimos). Type: Dark | Style: Offensive | Level: Basic Flametouch Daggers | A pair of obsidian daggers licked with crimson along the blade edge. On hit, the daggers become wreathed in flame. Type: Grey | Style: Other | Level: Basic Oral Charm | A small charm inlaid on the hilt of the Flametouch Daggers that allows one to be controlled via singing, within a range of 10 ft. Controlling a dagger takes an action to complete. Regional Score bonus: +5 in all shrine visits, drops, PQ+s, KQs, etc. (You must post this at the bottom of any post where a +5 should be included). RE: The Punchiest Pool Party - Lena - 06-03-2025 Noah might’ve been a calming presence, had things not immediately shifted after his arrival before them. [say]“Oh, well, we’re manag-,”[/say] Lena started out, before her tone was completely cut off, eyes and attention absorbed by machinations and manifestations of Frey unfurling before them. Zavien had warned her, but still, it was something else to watch as others, far braver than she could ever be, descended into the fray and madness and violence. Her heart lurched, and suddenly she was poised, much like during the war, remembering, recalling, a state of being that wasn’t something in the midst of panic. She nodded at Zavien, and they were off, trying to signal to anyone in the blinding wake of maelstroms and chaos to get away. Her hand grasped hold of her staff tightly, ready to assist if and when it was necessary. [say]“Come this way!”[/say] She echoed, waving innocents onwards. -- [say]Lena tries to help direct people away from the melee and out of the party.[/say] RE: The Punchiest Pool Party - Elizabeth - 06-03-2025 She didn't have to pretend to be looking at her book anymore, not when everyone's attentions were directed elsewhere. Her suspicions proved correct when the group of middle-aged gentlemen were on the move, Flora drawing people's eyes before Deimos winked out of existence. Then deities are appearing and people are yelling and that strange purple creature is doing that. Feeling very much like she shouldn't be sitting out in the open (and not really wanting to see whatever blood gets shed), Elizabeth carefully gathers her things and moves out of the perimeter. Along the way, she gathers shocked and terrified people to her, offering soft words of warm comfort to those she comes across. [say]"It's okay. You're going to be okay. Just stay calm and head towards Haulani. You'll be safe there."[/say] Her smile is gentle and reassuring, encouraging them to move despite the fear that threatens to grip them. Elizabeth slowly makes her way out of the dome, offering emotional support to those leaving. RE: The Punchiest Pool Party - Noah - 06-03-2025 He wanted to have time to talk to Zavien and Lena, to know how they were doing in the wake of the tower falling. He wanted this to be a short gathering where they could make it apparent they weren’t scared and hiding in some corner. But it wasn’t, and he didn’t get the chance. Pierce’s voice caught Noah’s ear and he turned, then suddenly the chaos began. He caught Deimos out of the corner of his eye, and then the warden was gone. Shit. Weapons and powers, gods and men. Noah growled for Zavien and Lena to get out, but they were already in action ushering others to safety. He would have stayed between them and the static that was Vox, but the glint of a fiery projectile caught his attention — its target just where Deimos had been. The hunter, with keen eyes and an instinct deeper and more powerful than he could explain, caught sight of the ancient in the water. Rage pooled through his belly and through his limbs as he closed the distance to her, devouring the space like it was nothing, before he came down on her. He didn’t have his magic to press the breath from her lungs and make her regret any glance she had ever glanced in Deimos’ direction, but as he came upon her now he was a force to be reckoned with—boot aiming square for her face. No one messed with Noah’s family. Noah attacks Thalassa in retribution for her assault on Deimos. RE: The Punchiest Pool Party - Aithne - 06-03-2025 Aithne is delighted to see Soren at the pool party, and she saunters up to him with a feline smirk. She wears remarkably little: a black bikini made of some kind of sparkly fabric she didn't know the name of, and sunglasses pushed up over the tight braids woven against her skull. Her horns and tail are on full display as she joins her friend, leaning past him to select a drink of her own. But before she can say much of anything, all hell breaks loose. The girl watches with an air of detached interest - the kind of expression she'd spent plenty of time practicing amongst the upper crust of Stormbreak. Taking a sip of her drink, she rolls her eyes towards Soren, tilting her head as though wondering whether or not they should join in. RE: The Punchiest Pool Party - Soren - 06-03-2025 Already happy that this was a shindig quite different than what he was accustomed to in Stormbreak, Soren was nearly overjoyed when Aithne joined him. [say]”Well, well, well, not like the parties we’re used to.”[/say] Soren flashed a fanged smile towards Aithne as she leaned over him to get her own drink. He kept his cocktail in one hand, the other free again as he shoved another snack quickly into it. He chewed as he watched all hell break loose, though his companion’s calm demeanor kept him grounded for now. [say]”What would my grandfather say about this?”[/say] He asked her in a hushed tone, mocking, between bites of the snack he had just put in his mouth. But his arm still slipped behind Aithne and around her waist in a protective manner. RE: The Punchiest Pool Party - Alys - 06-03-2025 It shouldn't have surprised Alys when all hell broke loose, and yet she still wasn't prepared. Perhaps she should have been clued in by the tension in the air, or by Sunjata 's distracted hello, or by Flora inviting Deimos to a game that the seer was fairly sure the latter would decline to play. But it wasn't until daggers were flying that she realized that things were going south with a quickness. And her partner was still halfway between her and Vox, scampering towards her over the sand. For a moment, she was tempted to grab And then she was running, away from the melee until she could feel her magic return to her. Calling upon her illusions, she tried to make the fleeing crowd - and herself - invisible, hiding them in case of retribution from the Family. --- Alys moves until she is outside the dome, then uses her illusion magic to try and hide both herself and anyone fleeing from the Family. Illusion (Abandoned/Hybrid): Can create 100% compelling and complex illusions within a 30ft radius. You know, the part where there was an actual party, with food and drinks and floaties. Not this... chaos, or whatever was going on. The girl arrived just as Flora called out to Deimos, prompting the man to disappear - and only a moment later, knives were lancing through the air towards Pierce. With a shriek, Noe dropped the towel and bag she'd been carrying and launched herself into the fray. Pierce, she knew, could take care of himself. Even Vox, who was Noe's favorite, was more than capable. But that didn't mean that Noe couldn't assist where she was able. So she sprinted - as best she could on the beach - towards Flora, aiming to knock the young woman into the water, where she would attempt to hold her under. --- Noe sprints towards Flora and tries to tackle her into the water/drown her. :D RE: The Punchiest Pool Party - Koa - 06-03-2025 Koa's lips tighten at Sohalia and Kaisel's denials, unease sinking deeper in his chest. [say]"Okay. Keep an eye out, yeah?"[/say] No sign of his sister, which isn't great given the plan to use this event as an excuse to get her skin pricked and her infection cleared. Fiddling unhappily with his gravetine ring, he casts keen eyes around the tense crowd. There's something brewing, some plan he isn't part of but knows enough players to sense is occurring. He tries to catch the eye of Deimos, of Flora, but they all seem caught in their own designs. All he can do is wait and watch. And then it all goes to shit. Flora's call is a clear indicator, her voice too sweet, too high and bright, a brittle edge to the sunlight. He whips his head in her direction, but he cannot catch her eye from here. And then there's movement, a flurry of activity and voices and Frey, and fuck, things are unraveling quick. Snapping into Dragoon!Mode, Koa looks sharply between Kaisel and Sohalia. [say]"Help get people to safety,"[/say] he directs, which is code for get yourself to safety, because Koa can't have them in danger. Straightening up, the young man tightens his bracers, expression set as he readies himself to join in the fray--- And then he catches sight of Noe, and his perspective shifts. [say]"Change of plans! Grab Noe!"[/say] Koa points to his sister before sprinting off, trusting his cousin and Sohalia to follow in his wake. Sprinting across the sand, he makes a beeline for his sister, arms extended in a bear-hug-grapple as he attempts to intercept her before she can take Flora down. [say]"NOW, SOH!"[/say] Koa calls, looking back to where he hopes the Luminary has with desperate intention in his eyes. Koa goes to intercept Noe in a grapple before she can tackle Flora Regional Score bonus: +1 in all shrine visits, drops, PQ+s, KQs, etc. (You must post this at the bottom of any post where a +1 should be included).
