RE: They call the thing a rodeo - Hawthorn - 07-08-2025

Flashing a smile to Alys as she arrives, the courtesan glances back to Colt when she smirks - his chuckle leaving him with a roll of his eyes. “[say]C’mon, I wouldn’t’ve offered if I didn’t expect ya to put me to work.[/say]” She knows him better than that — at least, he thinks so. But the tasks are laid out and Thorn nods, peering back at Alys as the suggestion is made.

“[say]Yeah, sounds good t’me.[/say]” He hums, snagging a bag and getting to work in the direction that Alys has indicated. And after a few moments, the abandoned has finally collected everything he needed to from his designated side. Returning shortly after the Seer, Thorn takes Alys’ bag for her so they can get rid of it. “[say]I’ve got it.[/say]” He can be the trash guy, he doesn’t mind.

The pair set off along with the other booth workers, hired hands, and cowboys not too stiff or drunk from the day's events. Together, enough progress is certainly made to leave a dent in all the chores, though the morning light will make them all the more obvious, and all the less appealing after the laughter has been slept off and the weariness has had time to sink in. It's usually why Colt prefers not to sit down and rest, if it can be helped, until the work is done. Makes it that much harder to get back up again and convince yourself to do it.

[say]"Thanks bunches, Alys, have a good night!"[/say] Colt calls over to the woman as the trash is expertly herded. Colt has her hands full with various signs, collecting them all into one pile for hauling away easier tomorrow. It's not enough work to keep Alys, so Colt sees her out with a wave of her hand once she's put all her shit down. In so doing, she leans back into a spine-cracking stretch, groaning out a complaint as she glances about for Thorn.

[say]"C'mon, let's call it a night,"[/say] she says as she finds him among the garbage stacks, linking arms with him and tugging him towards her house for a final drink to end the day.

Rodeo over, thanks for coming everyone!
