With the last of the bullriders claiming glory or dust, the event begins to peter out. Winners are announced, prizes doled out, and the sun begins to give way to evening, bringing a close to the annual thrill yet again. Vendors attempt to peddle their wares one last time, the lazier of them already closing up shop. The food stands have turned off their grills and brandish half-priced remnants for an out the door dinner. The House of Midnight beckons those who aren't done riding yet, and the locals bars will be buzzing with those who'd rather keep the hootin' and hollarin' going into the night.
Colt helps usher everyone out, closing her entrance gates behind the last of the crowd and setting to the work of cleaning the worst of the wear alongside some of her ranch hands. In the distance cattle low as they shift from one pen to another, men and horses calling out as the work drives on and steadily, finally, begins to quiet. Everyone will sleep well tonight, sure to be sore if they did more than ride the stands. All in all, a good rodeo.
