Awooo! - Sah - 10-20-2024 It was time. He'd debated it for seasons, and after speaking with Lena, he made his choice. When Sah had first come to Caido and learned of hybrids, he'd been certain it was something that he'd never want. The idea of being able to shift into a wolf was appealing, but to be so close to his original form, yet unable to reach it since his kind didn't exist in Caido, was too painful. Yet, not anymore. It had taken years, but the Wild Thunder finally felt as settled as an Outlander could be in Caido and in his human skin. Being able to shift into a wolf no longer sounded emotionally painful but exciting. He wanted that. He wanted to run on paws alongside his pack and hunt as he once did. He was ready. Entering the shrine, Sah placed a figurine of wolf down. It must have been created with magic because the small wolf was made of sapphire, and its eyes were a pair of diamonds. It had immediately caught his eye, and he knew it was the perfect offering for this request. With his offering made, Sah bent the knee and kneeled. With a bowed head, he called for his goddess, hoping that she would answer. [say]"Safrin. if you have a moment, I have a request."[/say] He took a breath. [say]"If you are willing, would you please do me the honor of making me a hybrid?"[/say] It felt like a monumental ask. Was he even worthy of it? To ask the starry goddess to remake him with her power and bind him closer to the Old Gods, to her. Surely such a thing had to be earned. Had he done enough in her name for her to say yes? Was she pleased with him? He hoped so. [say]~ Sah is asking Safrin to hybridize him! (A grey wolf shift, please). Using my hybrid pass![/say] RE: Awooo! - Safrin - 10-22-2024 For a long moment nothing happens. The candles burn softly, the sapphire wolf stands untouched upon the altar, and Sah's words are eaten by the shadows that stretch long fingers throughout the shrine. For all that Sah and Safrin have been to one another over the years, is it enough? Had the Wildthunder worked to cleanse his soul enough of the abandoned stain it's covered in, for Safrin to even make him into something new? The flickering flames atop the candles suddenly burn brighter, their warm glow on the walls of the shrine suddenly turning star-bright. The wolf burns a bright blue as if burning from the inside, its diamond eyes glowing as Safrin appears nearby, leaning casually against the altar. [say]"The life of a hybrid is not an easy path..."[/say] The goddess murmurs softly, her galactic stare soft as she regards the mage before her. [say]"There is a reason their kind is so rare."[/say] Reaching for the wolf, Safrin turns it softly over in her hands. [say]"Are you sure this is what you want?"[/say] RE: Awooo! - Sah - 10-22-2024 For a moment there was silence and Sah felt his heart sink. He had failed her and she’d deemed him unworthy of such a blessing. But then there was starlight and warmth as the wolf glowed and the goddess whom he belonged to appeared. The sight of Safrin was as breathtaking as ever and the Wild Thunder’s frayed nerves were soothed. Raising his head, he met Safrin’s eyes with a small smile. [say]“Nothing worthwhile ever is.”[/say] She willed for him to be certain so Sah followed her unspoken order and gave it one last contemplation. Was this truly what he wanted? To be remade and begin a new, challenging path? Was he ready? Yes. Nodding his head, Sah gave his answer, [say]“Yes, Safrin. Please. I’m certain.”[/say] As certain as he’d been when he’d kneeled before her and sworn his life and loyalty. [say]“Please.”[/say] RE: Awooo! - Safrin - 10-23-2024 Smiling warmly at that, the goddess nods her approval. [say]"Well said."[/say] Safrin hums as she gently sets down the sapphire wolf upon the shrine where it might once again be filled with a radiant and warm light. Moving to the centre of the shrine where there was more room, the goddess stretched out her hands, beckoning the Wild Thunder near. [say]"Stand before me, Sah Lovi. Faithfully you have served me all these years since arriving from your world."[/say] Though the Wild Thunder's first prayer had been to Frey, Safrin had long overlooked that misstep but for Sah's loyalty overall. [say]"If this is what you truly want—"[/say] Unless he indicated that he'd changed his mind, the goddess would reach forward to cup the abandoned's cheeks within her palms. Sah would feel starlight bloom inside of his veins, streaking through his core and filling in all the cracks and scratches that being an abandoned had placed on his soul. With the spaces filled his soul was strong enough to carry the blessing of the Old Gods, and from which Safrin allowed the first of many shifts to suffuse itself to his being. Forced forward Sah would find himself on four legs, his back strong and smooth, his senses sharp and predatory, his body covered in a thick layer of dense pitch-black fur. Congratulations! Sah has been made into a hybrid! RE: Awooo! - Sah - 10-23-2024 Sah stepped forward, easily pulled in by Safrin’s gravity. [say]“Yes.”[/say] His eyes fluttered shut at her touch as he placed his life and trust in her hands once more. She had never led him wrong. The rush of starlight took his breath away as he felt Safrin’s power consume him. He silently followed its path, shocked at how broken and corrupted his soul had truly been. It made the Wild Thunder increasingly grateful to the starry goddess. There was a shift in perspective as Sah’s muscles stretched and warped. After a heartbeat, the dark wolf opened his eyes for the first time. He felt whole. Unsure if he was being presumptuous, the Wild Thunder took a few steps forward and gently rested his head against Safrin’s leg for a moment before stepping back. Even with his new access to the Attuned bond words were failing him. Sah’s entire mind was filled with wonder, joy, and gratitude. He didn’t know how else to say thank you for the gift and blessing that Safrin had just bestowed upon him. If he were in human form, Sah was sure that at least a tear or two would have fallen. RE: Awooo! - Safrin - 10-31-2024 Unbothered by the head resting against her knee, the goddess let her fingers push through the plush black fur of Sah's ruff as she smiled down at him. [say]No doubt this will take some getting used to, given how long it has been.[/say] Safrin muses, though her lips don't move. Instead the words are whispered directly into Sah's mind, the sound like silk flowing through water. Allowing him to pull back, the goddess again grins. [say]In time you will be able to partially shift and speak to your fellow attuned while unshifted. For now, though, take things slowly.[/say] She advises with a gentle shrug. Caido was different from the world the WildThunder had come from, and though the body he now possessed might seem familiar, there would always be constraints. RE: Awooo! - Sah - 11-02-2024 Sah shivered at Safrin's touch, relaxing at her silent approval. It seemed that he hadn't overstepped. Even though he'd expected it to happen eventually, the dark wolf was still surprised at Safrin's voice in his head. The Attuned bond felt...odd. New, and warm, and good. But certainly, it was a sensation that he'd need to get used to. He nodded, [say]I will. Thank you for your guidance and for granting me my wish.[/say] Sah still wasn't sure if he was properly articulating how much this meant to him and he could only hope that the traces of his emotions in the Attuned bond made them apparent enough. Safrin had given him yet another priceless gift. When given permission to leave, the Wild Thunder gave one last bow. [say]Thank you.[/say] His gratitude was echoed in the bond as he turned to leave on four paws. It dawned on him that he hadn't truly warned anyone that he was even considering becoming a hybrid. His family and friends were in for quite the surprise. -[FIN] |
