don't take time to sew the stitches - Dantalion - 11-05-2024

Things have taken a little longer to get underway for the rage room than Danta would like, it's true, but in his defence... er, nothing, actually. He went on vacation, so sue him. But anyway, he's getting around to it now, and with Leafchange in full swing and the Grounds only likely to get colder and darker in the coming months, they could all use a little chaos to keep them warm.

[say]"Chaaaarlie,"[/say] Danta trills as he steps into the temple, a crate in his hands containing both the smoulder blossoms and the blood he'd collected with Astaroth at The Mountain's Roar. There are other supplies as well, of course, stacked in further crates just outside the Temple doors, but these are by far the most delicate, and so they'll stay in his arms for now.

[say]"Given that the shrine is here as well, I can't think of a better place for our new addition. Do you have any rooms that would suit, or shall I just hijack whichever one takes my fancy?"[/say] He grins.

RQ/PQ to get the rage room put together! Fulfills the following requirement:

A PQ of at least 3 Grounders selecting the location of the "rage room", arranging and decorating it using the materials obtained in 1. and 2. (The PQ must have a minimum of 8 rounds).

1. Dantalion
2. Astaroth
3. Charlie

Round 1 - Please post your characters arriving along with anything they might have brought with them!

RE: don't take time to sew the stitches - Astaroth - 11-05-2024

Danta carries the more fragile of boxes, but that doesn’t mean that Astaroth won’t help with some of the other crates as well. So as Danta takes the lead, the butcher returns to being the Maverick’s shadow, another crate in hand of whatever Danta deemed necessary to build the location of the rage room and decorate it, but a bag sits on his shoulder as well of other valuable trinkets to decorate with.

He sidles up beside the blonde as he calls out to their priestess, tail swishing idly at his heels, shoulder brushing along Danta’s own with a soft knowing grin, still sharp and eager, as if the idea of the rage room still sparked all kinds of wicked thoughts to run through his head. As if to avoid letting them out, though, a soft hum leaves him. “[say]I am at your mercy, darling.[/say]”

Asta arrives with a crate from outside and a backpack full of bones!!

RE: don't take time to sew the stitches - Charlie - 11-12-2024

[say]"Daaaaaaaaaaantaaaaaaaaaaa."[/say] Charlie's voice echoes from somewhere far in the temple, before she dart!dart!darts! directly before him. Beaming from ear to ear, the priestess blows both Danta and Asta a kiss (a literal one, made of fire, floats toward either man's cheek before harmlessly bursting against their skin).

Dressed in what passes for casual for someone like Charlie—a tight black dress and hot pink slippers—the priestess cocks her head to the side as her tail flits animatedly back and forth. [say]"Oooh? Are we doing this??"[/say] The rage room had been all the, well, rage since Danta had spoken to Dygra about it. Impossibly Charlie's smile seemed to grow as she gazed adoringly between the tall duo.

[say]"Well...I was thinking about that. If the room is meant to.."[/say] Pausing, her lower lip puckers out dramatically as the priestess struggled to find the word she was looking for. Indiscretions wasn't quite right, because it wasn't like they were going to do anything wrong in the room. Not by Charlie's standards, anyway. [say]"..allow for certain things, maybe it's better a bit farther back in the Temple?"[/say] Raising her brows, she glances between Danta and Asta. [say]"That way there can be as many noises and smells and things, and not everybody needs to know about it."[/say]

RE: don't take time to sew the stitches - Dantalion - 11-14-2024

[say]"Oh, good. My favourite,"[/say] Danta purrs back to Astaroth as he feels him brush up against his shoulder; at his mercy is always a fun time, in the Maverick's opinion. That will have to wait though, because the lady of the hour is suddenly before them, and it's with a fanged smile that he turns his cheek to accept the fiery kiss. [say]"We are doing this,"[/say] he says, dark mischief lighting up in his eyes.

Willing to take Charlie's steer on most aspects of their rage room's location - Danta doesn't care as long as he gets a room, honestly - he nods along and begins to swan further into the Temple, heading towards the back as she requests. [say]"A little privacy sometimes can be very enticing,"[/say] he agrees with a wink. [say]"How about this one over here?"[/say] Nodding to a door tucked away beneath an archway, whether or not it's currently in use doesn't seem to phase him.

He sets down the box of blood and smoulder blossoms beside the door, gesturing towards the Temple entrance. [say]"Do you mind helping fetch the rest of the things I've brought? Some are pretty bulky."[/say]

Round 2!

Finalise picking a room (whatever Charlie thinks is best <3) and help fetch the rest of the supplies!

There are:

- Some crates which should be easy to ferry inside
- A large, bulky item that needs two people

Danta will take whatever is left! No post order!

RE: don't take time to sew the stitches - Astaroth - 11-14-2024

“[say]I am your favorite, thank you for noticing.[/say]” He knows that isn’t what Danta had meant, but making the claim in purposefully mishearing him, well, it’s too good of an opportunity to miss out on. His grin sharpens a touch with it as his attention shifts to see Charlie’s approach, dark gaze affectionate as he allows the two of them to figure out the plans. As far as the butcher is concerned, he’s simply here to be the brawn (ha, where?) for whatever they need.

He’d already staked his claim on the Temple in one way, it isn’t his place to keep snatching them up.

He does, however, preen at the fiery kiss blown their way; accepting it easily before he’s following them further into the temple. Leaving the full decision to Charlie, Asta sets the box down and the bag beside it that clinks with a hollow sound. “[say]I do not mind what-so-ever.[/say]” He hums playfully as he already moves to start picking up one side of one of the bulky items.

Asta helps with the bulky item!

RE: don't take time to sew the stitches - Charlie - 11-15-2024

[say]"And it doesn't have to stay private."[/say] Charlie points out with a flick of her tail. [say]"Just...by invitation only."[/say] Bouncing her dark eyebrows and shooting Danta a fanged smile that she's sure he'll understand, the priestess spins on her heel slippers and leads the duo back into the Temple.

The room that Danta was eyeing had previously been earmarked for a dark lounge, but Charlie was nothing if not flexible, and so with little more than a few seconds of consideration, she beamed up at the Maverick. [say]"Perfect! I think we're probably deep enough in anyhow."[/say] She'd let the pair take that however they liked.

As for supplies?

[say]"I think you two are probably best suited for working together, mmm?"[/say] The flutter of her long lashes suggested she meant over and above them being of similar heights and strength stats. Besides, Charlie was very good at utilizing her dart! in moving things, such that she was off in a, well, dart, to get started.

Charlie picks the smaller items!

RE: don't take time to sew the stitches - Dantalion - 11-16-2024

[say]"Exclusive - I like it,"[/say] Danta says, chaos lighting up in his eyes afresh as they approach and ultimately select the location of the rage room. (It's like a dark lounge, Charlie, if you tilt your head and squint). Opening the door beneath the archway to peer inside and seeming pleased with their choice, it's on to the supplies, and the Maverick flashes Astaroth a knowing smirk as they work together to wrestle the larger (and heavier) item inside.

[say]"I really have to get better at using my dart,"[/say] he drawls as he watches the little priestess easily zip from place to place, Danta sighing and heading into the would-be rage room to set down their cargo. Small motes of fire crackle to life around the space to provide light - there is a window, of course, but Danta plans to cover that with some heavy curtains. No peeking and all that.

[say]"Okay, let's get started!"[/say]

Round 3! Pick your first tasks.

- The bulky item turns out to be a large table/slab - conveniently the same size as a body, should someone be forced to want to lay upon it. Two people to set this up!
- One of the boxes contains the materials for some shelving. One person to build these!

RE: don't take time to sew the stitches - Astaroth - 11-16-2024

Letting the hum of a chuckle escape the butcher, he glances over toward Danta with an equally amused and knowing grin as Charlie makes her suggestion that they were best suited to working together. Not at all under the pretense that they wouldn’t, the butcher lifts his side of the bulky item, following Danta’s lead to get the portion into the room they’d chosen. “[say]You need to practice it more, darling.[/say]” Astaroth muses, despite how rarely they had the time to focus on it. Perhaps the Maverick should start darting around the Dusklight’s bar while they worked and Asta kept tabs on things?

Brushing off the wrinkles already trying to form in his sleeves from hauling the bulkier item, he spends a few moments unbuttoning the cuffs so that he can roll his sleeves up to truly get to work. And seeing as he’s still standing by the bulky item, he removes the covering to reveal the slab of a table. Delight sparks in the darkness of his eyes, and he clicks his tongue as he decides how to get started. “[say]I assume that we want to ensure this is not going to be easy to move?[/say]” He knows in his use cases for the rage room, he’d want it to be sturdy as can be.

So, the butcher, with his sleeves rolled up, gets to work being one of the people to set up the table and ensure that it’s just as sturdy and capable as they all will need it to be.

Asta sets up the table!

RE: don't take time to sew the stitches - Charlie - 11-20-2024

There shouldn't be a window since we're in the interior of the temple

Standing on her toes as Asta removes the covering on what turns out to be a table, the priestess lets her jaw drop in playful approval, her baby blue stare immediately flitting to Danta. [say]"My my."[/say] Reaching out to tap her long nails against the surface, the sound utterly dampened by how thick the material was, Charlie grins. [say]"There won't be any breaking this."[/say] She purrs before glancing between the two taller ancients, knowing that if anyone was capable of making a liar out of her, it was them.

With the table being managed already, Charlie glances toward the boxes that she'd brought in. Cutting one open with a nail, her tail flicking animatedly behind her, the priestess peers into the box. Hoping to have found something more exciting than shelving, she realized that before they likely got to the good stuff, they needed a place to put it. With a hum she got to work, laying out the pieces and immediately discarding the instructions. The result was shelves which weren't entirely straight (but then again, who was these days), but definitely serviceable (that's what she said).

RE: don't take time to sew the stitches - Dantalion - 11-21-2024

Got it got it.

Bouncing his eyebrows between Charlie and Astaroth as the slab of a table is revealed, he tilts his head down at the addition and cocks a crooked smile. [say]"I'll give a prize to anyone who does manages to break it, put it that way,"[/say] he says, leaving said prize to their imagination before stepping forward to assist Asta in setting up the table on the far end of the room - furthest from the door, as it happens. [say]"We absolutely do want that."[/say] He grins.

Reinforcing the legs of the slab and even going so far as to bolt it down to the stone, by the time they are finished Charlie will long be finished with her shelving. [say]"I love it,"[/say] he purrs at how mismatched and wonky they are, gesturing to the other crates. [say]"There is plenty to set up, so feel free to keep going."[/say]

The table and shelving is set up! Round 4:

- In one of the crates you will find a selection of whips, chains and shackles that need to find a home and/or be attached to the wall.
- There is also a thick, patterned rug leaning up against the wall that needs to be rolled out and secured.

Danta is fucking around outside the room, so pick a task and let's go!

RE: don't take time to sew the stitches - Astaroth - 11-21-2024

A shark toothed grin forms on his face as the table is revealed, mischief glittering there as he imagines all the things that could be (and would be) done in the room when it’s completed. His approval mirrors that of Charlie’s however briefly it lasts before he’s shifting his attention to actually ensuring it won’t move. Fixing it into place alongside Danta, the bolts go into the stone and there’s a few minor touches made before he, too, is taking in everything the priestess has done with nothing but glittering excitement. “[say]How very lovely.[/say]” He hums on Danta’s heels.

The next task, though, is one that has him deciding which he’d prefer — and between eyeing the crate with all kinds of horribly wonderful tools and the rug, the butcher decides he’s probably fit for the rug (but that doesn’t mean he isn’t going to keep an eye on Charlie to see which out of all of them she appreciated the most). “[say]So, Charlie, darling, have you spoken with the tailor yet?[/say]” He probes like an old gossipy hen, wondering if she’d asked him on that date yet. And all the while, Asta unfurls the rug and places it exactly where he thinks it should go, securing the edges down so that it won’t move easily in the day to day destruction that will be wrought here, but easy enough that it can be removed to be cleaned.

Because he imagines there will likely be a lot of that needing to be done.

Asta picks the rug!

RE: don't take time to sew the stitches - Charlie - 11-25-2024

Glancing over her shoulder at Danta, Charlie's tail flicks out behind her in response to his praise, and while the priestess will never be anything more than pocketsize, she does appear to grow slightly beneath the warm weight of his gaze.

Peering into one of the crate's she'd moved, the priestess gasps with delight as she peers inside. Like a child given a fistful of tinsel and told to decorate the tree, Charlie begins to sprinkle her various items around the room: against a candlestick she places a whip, by a bowl of incense she lays a pair of handcuffs, leaning in the corner she places a spreader-bar.

Hopping up onto the table so as not to be in Asta's way as he unfurls the rug, Charlie crosses her slippered-feet over at the ankles, gently bouncing a nipple tassel against one of her palms. [say]"You know, I did go to see him, and I had every intention of dragging him home with me for a drink at the very least, but we got so caught up working on the outfits I'm designing for the two of you, that I lost track of time."[/say] Flashing the butcher a bright blue stare—he hadn't thought Charlie forgot about the outcome of their little bet, had he?—the blonde beams.

[say]"I might still, or maybe I won't. I mean, I definitely don't want to be dating anyone."[/say] Flashing Asta an apologetic shrug as if to say no offense to you and Danta, Charlie hops down from the table to help smooth out the edges of the carpet. [say]"Just someone to chum around with sometimes, you know?"[/say]

Charlie scatters objects!

RE: don't take time to sew the stitches - Dantalion - 11-26-2024

[say]"Are we not good enough to chum around with?"[/say] Danta wants to know, grinning as he ducks back in through the doorway; he's been busying himself arranging two sconces at either side of the door, adorning them with smoulder blossoms. (Hopefully the spray of flowers will act as a good indicator to set the room apart from any of the others in the Temple). [say]"I jest, of course. I know we're good fun, but Asta can be so overbearing sometimes."[/say]

Beaming playfully at the butcher - and looking very impressed at the developments - Danta brings the rest of the smoulder blossoms in with him, as well as the jars of blood collected from the Mountain's Roar. [say]"I knew you wouldn't forget about our bet, Charlie. I've been lookng forward to it,"[/say] he croons, setting the items down on the table. [say]"Let's keep going, shall we?"[/say]

Round 5!

- One person to arrange the rest of the smoulder blossoms around the room as decoration.

- One person to decide how best to decorate with the blood from the Mountain's Roar, whether that's by painting the walls, perhaps staining the table, splashing it around, whatever you like!

- One person to open the next crate (which contains an assortment of blades) and setting them up for use.

RE: don't take time to sew the stitches - Astaroth - 11-29-2024

Humming a soft laugh to hear her mention that she’d been caught up with the outfits, the butcher can only incline his head toward her as he unfurls the rug and gets it all situated. “[say]Work before play, I see.[/say]” It’s a playful chastise, one that he doesn’t fully mean (even if he does look forward to seeing what kind of outfits Charlie came up with for the two of them). “[say]You can have friendly dates.[/say]” He reminds her, watching as she helps smooth out the edges of the carpet while his gaze slips toward Danta with his same shark toothed smile.

Well, it’s a smile that falters briefly before a deep chuckle escapes him. “[say]You are a nightmare, Danta, darling.[/say]” He drawls affectionately, rolling his eyes to the beaming smile that greets him as he leans back against the table and folds his arms across his chest – his tail swaying at his heels as he listens for the next task. He pushes off of it and heads toward the crate, his curiosity getting the best of him as he peers inside it to withdraw a variety of blades.

His grin twists into a small smirk, withdrawing a few before glancing around the room. “[say]These will do quite nicely.[/say]” The blades in his hand are much of the same size but varying shapes of the blades – some for flaying, some for slashing, and these he expertly sets in an organization amongst the table like a surgeon might before a procedure. The rest finds a home exactly where they would be more likely to be utilized, while the butcher fully puts his moniker to work.

After all, a butcher is nothing without his blades.

Asta picks the crate!
