sirens in the beat of your heart - Sohalia - 01-02-2025 The last time she'd tried to pray to Safrin, nothing had happened. Sohalia had to wonder if the starry goddess was reading her mind, finding the trepidation that lay there and ignoring her because of it. The young woman tried to bury it deep down, focusing instead on the positives: Safrin was powerful, Safrin was cunning, Safrin was protective of those who were hers. She tried to ignore the insidious voice in the back of her mind that spoke in Sunjata's voice, reminding her that Safrin could also be cruel. Perhaps Soh needed a little cruelty, though, especially where her plans to retake Stormbreak were concerned. So she made her way to the shrine in the Citadel, admiring how beautifully ornate it was, and made her offering: a handmade painting of a starry night. She'd made time to make it herself on the trip to Halo, and she hoped that it was enough to appease Safrin this time. [say]"Safrin,"[/say] Sohalia murmured as she placed the painting just so upon the shrine, [say]"Please, I need your help. I want to do my part, but to do that, I can't go in unprepared. I will do whatever you ask. Please help me."[/say] --- Sohalia is praying to Safrin for a new weapon! (Feel free to edit the item description as needed!) Type: Grey | Style: Offensive | Level: Basic Gust Glaive | A carefully crafted glaive, decorated with intricate, lacy carvings. Upon making a slashing motion in the air, the glaive may do air damage to a target up to 5 ft away from the user. RE: sirens in the beat of your heart - Random Event - 01-03-2025 Whatever the reason, tonight, again, nothing happens as Sohalia kneels to pray. The handmade painting rests beautifully upon the shrine, the starry night you so lovingly crafted catching the faint glow of moonlight. The air in the Citadel remains still and cold, the ornate shrine seeming to regard you with an indifference that feels heavier than silence. No scent of lavender or moonflower. No shimmer of starlight. Whether Safrin is occupied, or whether she chooses not to answer, the outcome remains the same: only the sound of your own breath and the faint whistle of the icy wind fill the space, leaving you to wonder if the goddess ever truly heard you at all. RE: sirens in the beat of your heart - Sohalia - 01-03-2025 If she'd thought that her heartfelt words might have swayed the goddess to answer her prayers, she'd have been wrong, for only silence met the young woman as she waited patiently by the shrine. Her painting seemed to taunt her; perhaps it wasn't good enough to merit Safrin's attention. Regardless of the reason, the shrine remained silent, and Sohalia remained alone. After a while, she bowed her head, offering a silent prayer for blessings for her loved ones, and left the shrine - and her painting - behind. fin |
