well hidden - Melita - 01-11-2025

It was easy for Melita to return to the shrine this time; no shame coated along her entity. No disappointment. No embarrassment for her recent antics. No parallels to death and its constituents. Instead, she came skipping and bounding, reformed again in all her might, glory, and audacity, over portions and pieces of the water, floating until she reached the stronghold of pedestals and waves.

From there, she placed the necessities: the dream cactus, the caged treeflit, and her staff, extended upon the wares. The memory of filling the entire Dragoons’ barracks amidst balloons of all shapes and hues and designs, knotting them off upon steeples and stone, carved a certain Cheshire glimmer into her features, as did the chaotic semblances of training with Sohalia; the bonk upon her head innocent at first. Oops.

[say]“Ludo, I’ve done as you requested,”[/say] she offered still – and then put some other taffy, fudge, and licorice ropes beside the other items.

[say]Melita is turning in her quest received here: eyes like a storm to upgrade her staff!

1. Complete a training thread using Siabhran - bonus points if someone gets bonked on the head.
[Training] lift the spear

2. Complete a thread collecting a Dream Cactus from Hak Etme. Don't get pricked! (Or... do?)
it sticks with me

3. Complete a thread capturing a Treeflit from the Oerwoud.
without a shadow of a doubt

4. Complete a thread filling someone's house/bedroom with balloons. No reason, Ludo just thinks it would be funny.
just popping in[/say]

RE: well hidden - Ludo - 01-20-2025

Heralds do not whoop and shout hell yes! as a general rule, but Melita will nevertheless get the impression of it in her mind if nothing more. Ludo takes her exuberance, lets it flow and reverberate through itself before flinging it back out at her, such that the objects she brings - both the sweet offerings and the quest items - are practically set to vibrating with the chaotic energy in the air.

[say]"You certainly have, sweetling,"[/say] he praises, dark eyes and pale face alight with a fiendish smile as it appears behind the statue, in that now familiar form of a frostbitten youth. Clambering out and stuffing the taffy and liquorice and other offerings into its sleeves and pockets, it soon moves onto the treeflit and dream cactus. [say]"These will do nicely,"[/say] it determines, grasping the treeflit in one small fist and the cactus in the other, and then profusely shaking(?) them over the staff as if they are salt and pepper dispensers.

Nothing happens, obviously. And yet the staff is upgraded all the same.

[say]"And there you have it!"[/say] Ludo announces, releasing the (now angry) treeflit to flutter away and yeeting the cactus over its shoulder to plop! into the ocean beyond.

Melita has completed her quest! She has received:

Type: Dark | Style: Other | Level: Upgraded
Siabhran | A staff reinforced with the sap of a Wicker Woman. Black as pitch and veined with amber, this staff is nigh unbreakable. Those who are struck with it may experience mild hallucinations lasting up to ten minutes.

The chaotic energy, the exuberance, the wildness, cloaked her in her own vivid smile – mayhem and joy all in singular movements. Beaming under the praise, she watched as the childlike hands grasped at her offerings, content to see she’d done everything exactly right (and not wondering when that had started mattering to her).

Witnessing the shaking and dispensing of the treeflit and cactus (and then the flinging) had her clapping in delight (and relief, she supposed, that the former was just going to be set free). [say]“Thank you so much. You’re the best!”[/say] And she meant it, wholeheartedly. Fishing again in her pockets, she snagged at a few more candies for the herald. [say]“I’m going to keep at my shit,”[/say] she announced, much like a promise, with her Cheshire smile eclipsing her features.

And then, they could share the wealth of offerings, before she made her way back into Torchline’s ramparts, always eager to do her part in the spreading of pandemonium.
