I am flattered to receive a letter from you, although somewhat embarrassed at the events which triggered it.
As Mr. Lovi has stated, it has been tasked upon us to obtain possession of this creature by Vi, someone we cannot afford to disappoint; however, we understand how our methods may have been offensive. We have returned the bird as an apology for our actions, but perhaps there is a diplomatic solution that would be mutually beneficial. May we offer a trade?

Am I to understand now that I need not take this up with Vi, as your companion suggested?
As for trade, I cannot think of anything you might offer that would be worth blocking our access to The Citadel. We have most everything we need.
But I am open to suggestions.

No. If we are able to come to an agreement, then there is no need to bother Vi. Please consider the return of the bird as a gesture of our willingness to find a diplomatic solution and rectify our mistake.
We acknowledge that access to the Citadel is something that you view as valuable, but surely you can understand our desire to protect our borders from attack. Three times a void-infected creature has attacked Halo, and we wish for our non-combatant citizens to have the peace of mind that their homes in the Citadel are safe from such things.
We are open to suggestions as well. Here is a list of possibilities that we've come up with so far. Please let us know if one piques your interest or if you have other ideas.
1. Elizabeth and I can retrieve something for you that you do not have access to at the moment or simply lack the time to do so.
2. If there is a place where even the Family cannot reach, and you need information from within, we can get it for you.
3.I am capable of crafting magical items, though not ones as powerful as a deity can. I'd be willing to create something for you.
What are your thoughts?
