burned me up and down - Flora - 05-05-2025 Set during [ME] one shot, two shot, coppertone-red Flora arches her brows in exaggerated surprise, a smirk already curling at her lips, because of course Maea had decided to dive headfirst into the deep end of apologies before Astaroth was ready. Her gaze flicks momentarily past the Ancients, catching briefly on Koa’s familiar silhouette as he enters—and noticing—with a pang she quickly buries beneath sass and alcohol—that there’s still no sign of Jack. Decision made, she slides fluidly into the chair beside Danta, her glass held high in playful salute. [say]"You two are adorably thoughtful,"[/say] she says breezily, smiling warmly at Asta and the Maverick both, [say]"but honestly? If you feel like going full scorched earth tonight, by all means—this place won’t even be mine in a few hours. Burn whatever bridges you like."[/say] She punctuates her words by downing the last of her gin cocktail in one smooth swallow, humming appreciatively as she sets the glass aside. With a bright wave at Vesper behind the bar, she signals for another to join Asta’s incoming pina coladas. [say]"Besides,"[/say] she adds cheerfully, settling back into her seat and kicking one long leg gracefully over the other, [say]"why shouldn't this night go out with a bang?"[/say] RE: burned me up and down - Dantalion - 05-05-2025 [say]"Don't threaten us with a good time,"[/say] Danta purrs to Flora as she sidles properly into the seat beside him - and yes, he very much does enjoy being sandwiched between the butcher and the Doubletake, since you asked. [say]"We're very good at burning things, you know."[/say] Tipping her a wink and leaning back in his seat enough for Asta to join in the conversation without accidentally blocking him out, his eyes flick up to the server with the tray of pina coladas when they arrive. Reaching out for one and sliding the other to his fellow Ancient, he takes a slow sip from the drink (and pulls a face instantly, findng it far too sweet) and glances back to Flora. [say]"Why not indeed?"[/say] He says, flashing a fanged grin her way. [say]"So tell me, why is one of the people here dressed up as you? And also, what exactly is going to happen to the, er, lost and found out back, after tonight? Because if you need someone to keep an eye on it..."[/say] He gestures between them. RE: burned me up and down - Astaroth - 05-05-2025 A prompt rumble of an agreement passes the butcher’s lips to Danta’s purr – letting it break into a low chuckle. “[say]It is one out of many of our great qualities.[/say]” He boasts proudly, his sharp grin twisting a touch sharper as he smirks. His dark gaze lingers on Flora before it swaps easily toward the tray of pina coladas, wondering how on earth he’s going to finish them before realizing he has time. Snagging one of them to take a sip and relish in the taste, he notices the face Danta pulls and nudges him gently with his shoulder. “[say]Come now, darling, it is not that bad.[/say]” Rolling his eyes affectionately, his attention flits back to Flora as he answers her previous statement. “[say]There are a variety of bangs the night could go out on. Why settle with just one?[/say]” He tacks in belatedly, taking another sip of the pina colada before his fingers snatch the pineapple wedge on Danta’s own drink and takes a bite out of it, his teeth slicing through it with almost too much ease while his expression remains open and easy – agreeing with Danta with the offer to help with their other interests of the lost and found. "[say]We are happy to help however you deem best.[/say]" RE: burned me up and down - Flora - 05-05-2025 Flora laughs, low and delighted, eyes glittering warmly as she takes in the pair of Ancients beside her—fire wrapped in silk, dangerous and inviting. [say]"Oh, trust me—I’m well aware of just how incendiary you two can be,"[/say] she teases, lips curving into a knowing smirk. At Danta’s mention of Kaisel, Flora tosses a glance back over her shoulder to where the Dragoon is shamelessly flirting with Calypso, and rolls her eyes affectionately. [say]"That would be Kaisel. He's a Dragoon—Koa’s cousin, Mateo’s friend."[/say] Her gaze follows Danta’s to the back hallway, thoughtful as she considers his proposal. Leaning forward conspiratorially, she lowers her voice with playful intrigue. [say]"You know,"[/say] she murmurs slyly, eyes flickering between the Maverick and the butcher, [say]"I was thinking the Marin triplets—given who their dad is—would either be brilliant additions to the guild or absolutely terrible ones. I'm still undecided."[/say] Since, y'know, Jack hated her and might just find his loyalty to the lost and found waning. As Vesper brings her a fresh cocktail, Flora accepts it with a bright smile, raising her glass high in a toast. [say]"As for going out with a bang,"[/say] she drawls, gaze playful and wicked, [say]"I’ll cheers to having as many as possible."[/say] RE: burned me up and down - Dantalion - 05-05-2025 [say]"If you say so,"[/say] Danta grumbles, suffering his cocktail because it's a drink and it's there, but allowing the theft of his pineapple garnish without complaint. Taking a quick gulp of the pina colada and sitting it down so it can think about what it's done, the conversation at least is much more palatable, the Maverick letting a casual hand rest on Asta's knee as he leans forward a touch to peer at Kaisel. [say]"A Dragoon,"[/say] he repeats, evidently not having heard of them (or cared, if the former turns out to be a lie). [say]"Looks and sounds like a bunch of himbos and heroes."[/say] Slouching back again and leaning to hear the secret secrets and raising his eyebrows at the suggestion of some very crooked triplets, Danta resists the off-colour joke he's desperate to make (he works in a brothel, so sue him) and gives a gentle nod. [say]"Want me to have some conversations?"[/say] he asks. [say]"After tonight, obviously. Tonight is all about you. So I do have to wonder whether we're keeping you from the rest of the attention you might be getting."[/say] RE: burned me up and down - Astaroth - 05-05-2025 A curve of pride sharpens the butcher’s smile at Flora’s tease – because they were very incendiary at all times should the moment call for it – but settles contently to devour the pineapple like it was nothing but butter. His gaze also follows Flora’s and Danta’s, spotting Kaisel with the blonde wig slightly askew still, relishing the touch to his knee, before he’s chuckling softly to hear the Maverick’s idea of what a dragoon was. “[say]Could very well be.[/say]” He offers his agreement, setting the rind of the pineapple down before he downs a few more sips of his pina colada – just shy of getting a brain freeze for his trouble. It gives him the time to look back to the Doubletake, leaning in to hear the secrets so close that he squishes Danta again in the process, his chest pressing against the Maverick’s shoulder while his tail weaves beneath the table, brushing against Danta’s leg before the spaded tip brushes against Flora’s leg in turn. “[say]We would not want for you to catch fire, darling.[/say]” Comes the softer hum and the sharp grin as he props his bearded cheek up on his fist, focusing on Flora and ignoring Vesper as he drops off the next cocktail. “[say]However, I will never complain if you wish to continue to grace us with your radiating presence.[/say]” RE: burned me up and down - Flora - 05-06-2025 Flora snickers openly at the mention of himbos and heroes, lifting her cocktail in emphatic agreement as amusement lights up her face. [say]"Honestly? At least the himbos are entertaining,"[/say] she drawls playfully, gesturing with her drink towards Koa. [say]"That one over there was my ex-boyfriend,"[/say] she murmurs, voice dripping with mock intrigue as she shifts her gaze pointedly to Sohalia, [say]"and that one’s my best friend—and right now they both desperately want to date each other but apparently just aren’t."[/say] She punctuates the statement with a theatrical shrug, as if to say, himbos—can't live with 'em, can't escape the drama. Asta had heard all this already and likely had filled Danta in, but at least now they could put faces to names. At Danta’s offer to speak with the Marin triplets, Flora gasps dramatically. [say]"Oh, that would be excellent,"[/say] she purrs happily, eyes glittering at the prospect. [say]"That tall one behind the bar is Vesper and the golden-blonde one is Caly. They seem like the two in charge, whereas,"[/say] nosing toward Nova, Flora grins. [say]"That one just seems out for a good time."[/say] And when Asta’s tail brushes teasingly against her leg, Flora leans subtly but eagerly into the caress, mischief glinting in her gaze. Fluttering her lashes theatrically, she presses a palm dramatically to her chest as if scandalized. [say]"As if I’d ever complain about catching fire with you two. That's what healing fountains are for, after all,"[/say] she retorts sweetly, though the wicked gleam in her eyes betrays just how much she means it. [say]"I mean, I never get to spend any proper time with the two of you together,"[/say] she sighs, feigning wounded abandonment. [say]"Pretty sure the last time we did was right here,"[/say] Her eyebrows bounce suggestively at the memory of their infamous karaoke evening, the warmth of Asta’s teasing touch beneath the table reminding her vividly just how starved for affection she truly was these days. RE: burned me up and down - Dantalion - 05-06-2025 [say]"I'm of the opinion that you can be plenty entertaining without having to lose a few braincells,"[/say] Danta says with mock-haughtiness, because Dygra knows he's been guilty of more than one stupid (and hilarious) decision in his time. Raising his eyebrows to hear ex-boyfriend and best friend tossed into the mix, the Maverick's gaze is wicked but his expression is playfully sympathetic, and he gives Asta's knee a gentle squeeze; if anyone knows the pains of desperately wanting to date each other but apparently just aren't, it's them. [say]"Well, since I'll be acquainting myself with Vesper and Caly anyway soon enough, maybe I should ask them to make a cocktail each for those two lovebirds and say they ordered it for each other,"[/say] he says - just call him Cupid and be done with it, hey? But anyway - back to catching fire, something Danta is always on board for, especially as he feels Asta press in closer against him. Leaning casually into the butcher and letting out a low whistle to be reminded of another such incendiary night, he casts his gaze fleetingly out towards the bar before it returns right back to Flora. [say]"It's a shame if you think about it,"[/say] he says. [say]"Things might have ended up so much hotter if we'd all been in a better state."[/say] And he knows very much from experience how smoking both the butcher and the Doubletake can be on their own. RE: burned me up and down - Astaroth - 05-07-2025 Already familiar with the intricacies of Sohalia and Koa thanks to their night trip on the Sugar Tide, Asta’s dark gaze does still slip toward them to in fact put their faces to their names. It’s only brief, though, because Danta’s gently squeezing his knee again and he leans in a touch more because obviously they understood. Snorting to hear Danta’s plans to become Cupid, the butcher’s gaze flits briefly from Vesper, Caly, and Nova at the bar before swinging immediately back onto Flora as his tail brushes against her leg. “[say]I admittedly adore the healing fountain.[/say]” Asta says with a soft chuckle, a shrug of his shoulder as he sips deeply from the first Pina colada, sliding the empty glass away as the liquor flames in his gut in a mixture of sweet, mischievous decisions. Humming a note, the butcher nods and offers his dramatic laments, horned head tilting opposite of Danta so his horns can’t collide with the Maverick’s as he peers over at Flora, the flat portion of his spaded tail pressing against her calf. “[say]There is no harm in rewriting that night, wouldn’t you say?[/say]” He murmurs, flashing Flora and Danta his sharp smirk as he mirrors Flora’s own bouncing brows with a raise of his own, his free hand slipping around Danta’s shoulders. "[say]Perhaps it may even be preferred?[/say]" RE: burned me up and down - Flora - 05-07-2025 Flora snickers into her drink, swirling the melting ice with a flick of her wrist. [say]"Honestly, who needs brain cells when you’ve got good lighting and emotional damage?"[/say] she quips, flashing a grin at Danta. But her laughter stutters just a little at the idea of him playing cocktail Cupid right here, tonight, in her bar, where she could see it—and worse, feel it. For someone who claimed to be fine, the sudden twist of her stomach said otherwise. Still, she lifts her chin and shrugs, breezy as ever. [say]"Just make sure whatever you send has blushberries in it,"[/say] she says airily. [say]"Nothing like getting blushberry drunk to really bring your emotions to the surface."[/say] Her gaze slides to Asta, then to Danta, her grin sharpening like a blade hidden in velvet. [say]"I meannnnn, the one rule of this party was no heartbreak,[/say] she drawls, tapping a red-polished nail against her glass. [say]"And I'm pretty sure you both at least cracked mine a little last time."[/say] Her tone is teasing, but her eyes gleam with the memory of how that night had ended for her. The look in Danta's eye as he towered over her in the backroom, confessing his feelings. The way she'd stolen a final fragment of Asta's time before telling him the news. The way she'd curled up on the couch, all alone. Still, her smile is real enough, because for all that, she still adored them both. [say]"Shame, though,"[/say] she says, voice dropping into something softer, smokier. [say]"It was fun, when it was just us."[/say] She tips her head, curls falling forward like a curtain. [say]"Too bad there’s so many people around tonight."[/say] The implication is a whisper between them, barely there but definitely present—just like the press of Asta’s tail against her leg, or the glow of heat she doesn’t bother to smother. RE: burned me up and down - Dantalion - 05-07-2025 [say]"And I will cheers to that,"[/say] Danta grins, lifting his cocktail and clinking it against Flora's - and against Asta's next pina colada - before he swiftly drains his glass and hails a server to order something more to his taste. [say]"Is that so? I'd say with a rule like no heartbreak the blushberry cocktails should be fucking banned for the evening, if that's the case,"[/say] he says - and promptly forgets about Sohalia and Koa for the words that spill from Asta's lips next. Leaning into the cradle of his arm around his shoulders and tipping his head back with a wicked smirk curling across his lips, now it's the Maverick's turn to raise his eyebrows. [say]"If you keep teasing like that,"[/say] he purrs, [say]"I'm going to have you put your money where your mouth is. And so is Flora."[/say] It's as much an invitation as it is a playful warning, and it's with smouldering blue eyes that he offers the Doubletake a careless shrug. [say]"There won't always be so many people,"[/say] he points out. [say]"And there's also that clever little hidden room of yours if you're dying to have a little extra fun."[/say] RE: burned me up and down - Astaroth - 05-07-2025 Making a face about the blushberries, the butcher keeps it in mind to leave those promptly on the menu and nowhere near him - echoing Danta’s sentiments for whether or not they should be banned for the night with a low hum of a chuckle, sipping from his second drink once Danta’s clinked his against his. Their own night hadn’t gone quite as well either - the feelings out in the open was relieving, for sure, but absolutely mortifying at the same time. And he’s fairly confident he’d nearly eaten Danta that night. A thought that subconsciously has him running his wrist against the top of the table, spinning the crow charm there idly in a small tic for movement. His dark gaze slips toward Danta even as he smirks slightly, for once willing to indulge, much to both Flora and Danta’s own surprise - he’s sure - but something about being on vacation brings out a different side of the antlered Ancient. A less caring, more fun variant. “[say]Danta is right, Flora darling.[/say]” Comes the soft hum, his arm remaining around Danta’s shoulder even as his fingertips reach out to brush against Flora’s shoulder, his tail brushing up a bit closer to Flora’s knee. At least for now, the two of them can make sure she doesn’t feel alone at her own party. "[say]Also, I am sure I can think of a few people in attendance who might find themselves jealous if that is an angle you are seeking.[/say]" He touts in that little gossipy tone, gaze drifting toward Danta with a raise of his brow, mischief alight in his honey dark eyes. RE: burned me up and down - Flora - 05-07-2025 For all her cleverness and all her confidence, Flora doesn’t quite know what’s being proposed—at least, not exactly. The words hum between them, subtle and charged, their edges softened by the lull of music and the slow melt of alcohol in her veins. As Asta’s fingers brush lightly along her shoulder, she tilts instinctively toward the touch, eyes hungry as they flick between him and Danta. There’s no hesitation in the way she looks at them now. No doubt about the heat curling in her stomach or the buzz along her skin. Glancing over her shoulder, Theea’s laughter is pealing somewhere near the dance floor, Kaisel is at the bar clearly flirting with Calypso, and while Koa and Sohalia still aren’t talking, the tension between them could probably be bottled and sold as an aphrodisiac. Flora snorts softly. Of course they’d work it out. Probably right here, right now, under her nose. And as for Jack? Still no sign of him. Not that she’s looking. Not that she cares. Turning back, she smirks lazily and leans in. [say]"No one will have the chance to miss me,"[/say] she murmurs, voice low and velvet-slick. [say]"Not if I'm not gone at least for a little while."[/say] She swirls what’s left in her glass, the ice clinking quietly before she tosses it back, standing with a stretch that has her corsette shifting against her hips. Her gaze flicks between the two of them once more, half-lidded and glittering with suggestion. [say]"And besides,"[/say] she adds breezily, already starting to move, [say]"there’s a lot of my best liquor in the back. Be a real shame to let it go to waste."[/say] RE: burned me up and down - Dantalion - 05-07-2025 For Danta's part, he both does and doesn't know what's being proposed - all of the suggestive touches and decisions to move somewhere more private point to flirting with a ménage à trois between them - but this is Asta, who literally set himself on fire at the idea of Sunjata innocently sharing their room. Even so, the alcohol burning in his veins is starting to make all of the difficult decisions seem really easy, and so, also throwing back his new drink - a decision he's sure won't come back to haunt him tomorrow - he rises to his feet after Flora. [say]"Luckily there is already a stand-in for you,"[/say] he adds, gesturing to Kaisel in his blonde wig. [say]"They might not even notice you are gone. Besides,"[/say] he adds, eyes drinking in her curves and the heat in his veins growing no less scorching for knowing what they look like beneath her corsette, [say]"I've always wanted a taste."[/say] Of the liquor in the back, of course. Still, glancing back to Asta and reaching out to brush a gentle caress across his jaw, he lifts an eyebrow as if to ensure they've not gotten any wires abruptly crossed: you're sure? |
