preparation and opportunity - Deimos - 06-14-2025 There was a brief lull in between waiting for the group embarking for shiny stones, impending upheavals, and gardening throes, so Deimos opted to take advantage of the few moments. Rather than using it to rest, he snagged at his toddler and companion entourage for the day’s outing, already beginning to thread his way through the village. [say]“Let’s see if we can find something your mother would like,”[/say] he rumbled to the youth overhead, hanging onto Erebos’ legs as the child sat on his shoulders, giggling all the while. The toddler eventually opted to lean entirely on the Sword’s head, elbows resting just so, as he peered around booths. Deimos did much the same, but trusted Erebos’ ability to spot something entertaining or shiny, because his gaze went frequently downward, intending to see if there was a certain set of roses sprouting up from wooden beams and kiosks. But with Zuriel behind him, and Belial soaring overhead, keeping a lookout, the Warden was hopeful, because that was all he could have in these sort of fortune-based circumstances. RE: preparation and opportunity - Sunjata - 06-14-2025 Trying to make use of any downtime, the Flood finds himself among the familiar humid trees of the Greatwood again, following the suggestion he’d offered at the meeting back in Torchline. Healed now with no lingering soreness from the punches gained, it’s easy for him to drift through the unfamiliar paths as the Greatwood continues to mess with him as it always did, until he managed to stumble across a familiar face. Well, faces, he supposes, because he’s met Erebos before but the young lad was much older now than Sunjata can remember. So he offers a wave and a lopsided smile to them, figuring a hello wasn’t that necessary. “[say]Any luck?[/say]” He asks, his accented voice carried on the warm breeze. RE: preparation and opportunity - Deimos - 06-14-2025 The familiar voice made the Sword turn away from a set of necklaces (that he scoffed at internally; he could easily make something better for Evie entirely on his own), and back towards the Flood some distance away. Erebos beat him to the punch however, with an amiable wave and a jubilant [say]”Hi!"[/say] wholly encompassed by the innocence and joviality of toddlers. Deimos could only arch his brow and shake his head, long strides taking him closer to the expanse so they wouldn’t be yelling at each other over the scattering of merchants and passersby. [say]“Nothing yet,”[/say] on either count currently, though he could take away ideas for the Evergreen – though even that was a bit minimal today. Maneuvering the infant gently so Erebos was still at ease along his shoulders, listening to his son giggle, he snorted, then deviated the attention back to Sunjata, while Zuriel snagged at branches nearby. [say]“Thought I would take an opportunity when I had one.”[/say] Figuring the other leader would understand, given all of them being in similar circumstances. [say]“You find anything?”[/say] RE: preparation and opportunity - Sunjata - 06-14-2025 His smile brightens at Erebos’ greeting, the Flood drifting closer as Deimos does. “[say]Hi Erebus![/say]” He greets the toddler on his own just to ensure he feels special, before nodding to the Sword and glancing to the surrounding area and the merchants that have their wares on display. Nodding to the other man and toddler with a puff of a sigh leaving his lips, he folds his arms across his chest and shifts his weight. “[say]Same.[/say]” He sighs a little before casting a glance back around again. “[say]What were you thinking for a gift?[/say]” He asks idly, keeping the conversation as easy as possible incase prying static ears were listening. RE: preparation and opportunity - Deimos - 06-14-2025 Erebos brightened more at the inclusion of himself – babbling as his fingers wound their way through Deimos’s hair, ensuring there’d be multiple knots and gnarls for his father to thread and brush through later. [say]”Something pwetty!”[/say] presuming, of course, he’d been asked the question. The Sword snorted but ultimately agreed, leaving that answer to hang along the marketplace. When nothing seemed to be around though, that age-old sullen aspects threatened to settle in. [say]“I am heading this way,”[/say] further down the square, knowing he only had so much time. “Might see you back through, depending on how the day goes,” he sighed, while the toddler waved goodbye, companions following alongside, a final, infant outcry settling through. [say]”Good wuck!”[/say] [FIN] |
