all quiet on the frontal lobe - Melita - 12-31-2025
The end of the season also seemed to coincide with the finality of her latest quest, and when the morning rush across the docks came to its usual precision, so did she. Fresh from her stroll along the market square, Melita arrived with offerings and bestowals well in hand, including a bucket of water balloons that she settled on the lower steps, before placing other necessities within the nearby skulls (caramels, lemon drops, and some ghost whale gummies with clusters of candy for the eerie eye effect), and a black kitten plushie that she’d outfitted with a handmade Ludo mask.
Pleased with herself and the effects they brought, she leaned back, gazing upwards at the statue, and then the general surroundings, figuring her favorite herald was apt to make an appearance from anywhere. [say]“Hey Ludo – hope you had a decent season,”[/say] and if not, well, the water balloons were there for a lingering round of mayhem before Flowerbirth came to a close. [say]“Aaaaand I finished my quest! These were really fun!”[/say] Especially when she could terrorize Stormbreak again (not by assignment of course, but personal choice).

Whether Ludo has had a good season or not is irrelevant when it comes to water balloons, and Melita will soon realise as much. The balloons fly from the bucket with aplomb, thrown from invisible arms and with startling aim, and she'll be able to hear the distant yells of shock and surprise as passers-by are soaked by divine menace.
[say]"I thought they would be,"[/say] Ludo chirps, peeping out from around the statue with big eyes and blackened fingers, the skulls clacking their chorus of agreement (and a few of them swallowing up the sweet treats, though where the candies go are a mystery). [say]"Glad you enjoyed being a copycat. It's one of my favourite things to do."[/say]
Slinking out now to grab up the masked-cat plushie, Ludo doesn't do anything particularly mysterious, but Melita will feel it in the subtle tingling of her skin, the way the hair raises on the back of her neck, that the deity has granted her the boon she'd requested. When she leaves, she'll discover her ability to be more powerful than before.
[say]"I hope it brings you even more ways to have fun,"[/say] Ludo says, smooshing its face into the soft fuzz of the cat plush.
Melita has completed her quest and has upgraded her Monkey See ability to Mastered:

It didn’t take long for utter delight to win over her features – the balloons were flying, serenaded by yells; exactly what she’d had in mind. Her bright grin was punctuated by sharp laughter, turning to face big eyes and blackened fingers with her ease of chaos. [say]“Impressive,”[/say] she chirped, snagging at one for herself and throwing it at dock worker close by, pretending not to notice when he was teetering on the edge of the platform at the strike.
As for the additional lore, she didn’t know that, but accumulated it to her knowledge of the herald. [say]“I think it’ll be one of mine too.”[/say] Along with ducks, of course.
The power coursing through her didn’t go unnoticed, and for that she bowed and bobbed her head, the gratitude extended again and again. [say]“Absolutely. I won’t let you down,”[/say] she winked; especially with the shenanigans of the upcoming season – a promise of chaos again.
