point your fingers like a gun - Flora - 02-20-2026

Flora climbs the spiral stairs of the lighthouse without ceremony, sandals scuffing lightly against the worn stone as the wind slips in through the narrow windows and pulls at her curls. By the time she reaches the shrine at the top, her rings are cool against her skin and the sea is a steady roar below.

She moves straight to the candles. One by one, she lights them, leaning in with steady hands until every wick is burning and the small chamber is warmed by gold light. Wax softens and pools; smoke threads lazily toward the open air.

From her bag she takes out pieces of seaglass and arranges them carefully on the stone ledge, pressing them into the shapes of various stars—sharp-pointed, scattered, deliberate. Pale green, ocean-blue, milk-white. They catch the candlelight and throw it back fractured and tender, like bottled starlight.

[say]"Heyyyyy, Safrin,"[/say] she drawls, rocking back onto her heels, brushing her palms together as if she’s just finished setting a table. [say]"brought something bubbly too, because obviously."[/say] She rises and produces the champagne with a flourish, thumb hooking under the wire cage. A twist, a breath, and the cork releases with a sharp, celebratory pop that ricochets around the stone chamber. Foam surges at the mouth of the bottle and she laughs, tipping it just enough to keep it from spilling over her hand.

She takes a long sip straight from the bottle, then steps closer to the shrine, setting it down beside the seaglass stars with deliberate care, like she’s placing a crown. [say]"I was hoping you might help Torchline flex a little more muscle,"[/say] she continues, rolling one shoulder as if shaking off something invisible. [say]"Nothing too dramatic, but just so when ships pull in, they know exactly whose waters they’re cutting through."[/say]

Flora would like a CANNON RQ.

The candle flames bend first; not extinguished but simply drawn sideways, as though the air itself has leaned in to listen. The sea below hushes a fraction, its roar turning velvety, and the fractured light from Flora’s seaglass stars sharpens, each shard catching something brighter than flame.

[say]"Flora."[/say] Her name is spoken warmly, wrapped in silk and starlight both as Safrin condenses from glow and gold, candlelight thickening, sea-glass glimmering until it spills upward and shapes her silhouette. Dark hair falls like a slice of night against the chamber’s warmth, constellations shifting lazily along her skin. With a lazy flick of her fingers, the champagne lifts from the shrine. Another glass appears in her other hand—delicate, crystalline—already filled. She does not rush the sip she takes, lashes lowering slightly as bubbles kiss her lips.

[say]"The day you ask for something that isn’t dramatic,"[/say] she says lightly, tilting the glass toward Flora in salute, [say]"is the day I roll over and hand these islands over to Ludo."[/say] There is an affectionate roll of her eyes, a goddess who knows her queen well and has never bedrudged her for a little flair.

Her attention returns to Flora, proud and measuring all at once. [say]"Of course I will help. Here is what Torchline must do..."[/say]

When Safrin spills from glow and glass into shape, Flora’s face opens immediately, bright and unguarded, as if the sun itself has stepped into the room. She lifts the champagne bottle in an easy salute. [say]"Cheers,"[/say] she says, the word warm and pleased as it leaves her mouth.

At the goddess’s teasing, she laughs, one shoulder lifting in a careless shrug. [say]"Okay, you caught me,"[/say] she admits, grin tugging wide. [say]"Maybe I don’t really do subtle."[/say] But then again, neither did Safrin.

She listens without interrupting, head tilted slightly, aqua eyes intent and steady. There is no fidgeting, no restless humour now, just attention. As Safrin outlines what Torchline must do, Flora nods once, then again, committing each instruction to memory and when she finishes, Flora’s smile returns, sharp and confident. [say]"Will do,"[/say] she says simply before taking another sip of champagne straight from the bottle, bubbles fizzing against her tongue. [say]"Thanks."[/say]
