gold in your eyes in this rosy-fingered light - Flora - 03-18-2026

With her hand still threaded through Kaisel’s, Flora slows as they reach Safrin’s statue, her steps easing to a stop as though something gentle and instinctive has drawn the motion out of her. She doesn’t let go of him as she leans in, her free hand brushing away a scatter of dried leaves that have gathered at the base, careful and unhurried in the way she clears the space. The small act feels quietly important, like tidying before a guest arrives, even if the goddess hardly needs the help.

She arranges the seasonal flowers next, tucking them into place with an eye for balance that’s more intuitive than deliberate, bright petals catching what little light there is and softening the stone with something living. [say]"Safrin,"[/say] she says, her voice warm and lifted easily toward the statue. [say]"We’ve done what you asked. We each wrote down our part of what we’d like in the stars, so that maybe it could be in our own writing."[/say]

She sets the small collection of offerings down as she speaks, the photographs placed carefully where they won’t slip: the captured shimmer of the qilin, the two of them framed against the night sky, the playful constellations they’d invented together. They look a little mismatched, a little chaotic, but entirely theirs.

Flora glances at Kaisel then, her expression brightening into an easy, radiant beam, something proud and soft all at once before she turns back to the statue. [say]"Thanks so much for helping us with this,"[/say] she continues, the words simple but steady, [say]"it means a lot."[/say]

Flora and Kai are turning in their quest given in Hagamos mil travesuras y, si nos pillan, pues suerte

His own steps mirror the subtle slowing of hers, arm lengthening as she bends down to grant their connection more lead, his attention raised for the moment to the statue’s carved face. He shifts his other hand out of his pocket and reaches up, brushing away a cobweb with a swirl and a flick. This shrine had been his first, and Safrin the original god he’d knelt to, choosing her as many of his family had for her sharp mind and powerful means. How different he feels in such a short span of time, standing before this familiar cut of stone in a place wrestled from loss. It’d been home once, but now he’s no more than a visitor, as they all are. He’d been nervous then, unknowingly searching for some form of approval to pack into all the parts that felt empty. Here, now, he feels complete.

[say]”We captured the stars in a way that felt fitting,”[/say] he adds quietly to the end of what Flora says, gaze lingering over the photos with a smile tugging into his thoughtful expression. His fingers slip into his pocket again briefly, wrapping around something that he pulls out and sets down beside the flowers. A large amethyst, cut and polished into the shape of a heart. It’s a dark violet, streaked with silver rings and the lighter purple freckling through on some areas like starlight trying to break through the depths.

Straightening back up beside Flora, his fingers tighten against hers, clamping down on the rush of excitement. [say]”It’s a wish come true, really.”[/say] Having long lost count of how many shooting stars he’d tucked a bit of hope into over the years, this might be the biggest star payoff yet. [say]”Thank you, for arranging it.”[/say] Quite literally, in this case.

The air shifts before she appears, subtle at first, like the faint hush that falls just before a constellation sharpens into view. Light gathers rather than arrives, threading itself through the space around the statue until it seems less like something new has entered and more like something eternal has simply chosen to be seen. Safrin steps forward from that quiet brilliance as though she has always been standing just beyond the edge of perception, her presence unfolding in a soft, luminous gravity that draws the eye without effort. Her gaze moves first to the offerings, lingering over the photographs with clear, pleased interest, the curve of her smile deepening as she takes in the qilin, the captured sky, the playful constellations shaped by their hands.

The amethyst catches her attention next, the heart of it glinting faintly as though answering something in her, and her expression warms further, approval settling easily into the lines of her face. When her eyes lift to them, there is something distinctly fond in her regard, a quiet satisfaction that comes from being not only honoured, but included in such a grand gesture and dramatic declaration.

[say]"Tonight,"[/say] she says, her eyes returning to them with a glimmer that suggests she’s already seen it written, already watched it unfold across the sky, [say]"your love will be written into the stars."[/say]

Kaisel and Flora have completed their quest! Their proposal will be written in the stars across all of Caido to see.

Flora lights up the moment Safrin appears, the brightness of her smile immediate and unrestrained as she instinctively leans closer into Kaisel, tucking herself against his side as though the joy in her chest needs somewhere to go. It crackles through her, bright and effervescent, leaving her practically vibrating where she stands, her fingers tightening around his as if that might steady the rush of it. It doesn’t matter that they’re already married, that this is technically something that should have come first; it feels right anyway, gloriously and unmistakably right, and she isn’t about to question it.

[say]"Thank you,"[/say] she breathes, the words slipping out in a soft, shaky whisper that wobbles with laughter she’s barely holding back, her voice threaded with a kind of delighted disbelief, though the moment doesn’t sit still inside her for long. Her hand lifts almost without thought, cupping Kaisel’s cheek as she turns toward him, drawing him down as she rises onto her toes to meet him halfway. The kiss she presses to his mouth is fierce and full and entirely uncontained, all the bright, overflowing affection she’s been holding spilling into it at once, her smile breaking through even as she kisses him.

[say]"I love you so much,"[/say] she murmurs against him when she pulls back just enough to speak, the words soft but certain, her grin already running away with her again.
