by the light of the moon - Wessex - 07-08-2019

The sun sets. Wessex blooms.

Figuratively, of course, but she can feel the strength flowing through her silvery not-blood as the earth rotates, sending the sun down and setting the moon high in the sky. The clouds are cast in a brilliant salmon-pink and gold, the stars just begging to be allowed to twinkle, stretching their light into the dusk as elegantly as they can. The Ascended woman leaves her shield behind and comes into the center of the pit. In a slow rotation, she counts the guard and find their number increased, which sets a small, satisfied smile fleeting across her face.

So. She’s dangerous, is she? The little war chief can scoff all she wants, but there is a message in her night-guard. Not just we’re not going to let you escape, but we’re also not sure what you can do.

Which is nothing, really. Edy’s powers of disintegration won’t let her break through any walls. She can’t fly. Won’t fight fire until she has to, has to save that valuable one for when she really needs it. With soundless movements, she waves up at her guard in case they’re watching, and then lies down on the floor of the pit, staring up at the stars and the moon - seemingly quite content - nay, almost the perfect picture of calm, happy, repose.

What prison? Wessex is on vacation.

[say]"Time to go."[/say] A voice calls from above. A man peers over, his face like a boulder (his build, too). [say]"You are not our problem now."[/say] He adds, before moving back.

Hands link and a vortex of wind appears at the base of the pit. It is how Wessex was lowered down, and it's clear it is how she will be taken out as well.

RE: by the light of the moon - Zariah - 07-10-2019

Zariah arrived to fetch her prisoner as bidden by the Fae Chieftess. She walked with her head held high, shoulders square, face masked with and emotionless gaze. The Queen of the Hollowed Grounds was formidable, a presence, just as Delah was. But she was unfortunately not here on a visit of pleasantries, but to retrieve one of her own that had made the mistake of crossing two of the very wrong sorts of women.

The pit surprised her, being more accustomed to buildings for jails, but it seemed quite the effective method of keeping people trapped. She waited patiently at Delah’s side, watching as the Fae once again worked their magic to lift the imprisoned woman from the depths to the flat ground again. [say]”My, my, what trouble you have caused.”[/say] Zariah said in a low tone, watching the Ascended with a blank stare. [say]”You are officially a prisoner of the crown of the Hollowed Grounds. I suggest you come quietly if you wish to survive your trek out of these woods.”[/say] she said, her magic ready at her fingertips should she put up a struggle.

Lifting her hands up as if she were actually flying, Wessex offers no resistance when the Fae bring her to the top of the pit, and then steady ground. Her first thought was that Zariah loved to hear herself talk. Officially a prisoner… yeah, no shit, Sherlock. If you have to verbally remind people you’re the so-called Queen, seems like you’re probably not very secure in yourself. She rolls her eyes in the dark, but does manage to whisper to the nearest Fae, whomever that may be.[say] “Nice story you’ve got on the walls. Better hope I never make it the mountains.”[/say]

Without saying anything else, she looks at Zariah with an equally blank stare, as if she’s gone dumb. Well? She seems to imply, though she says nothing and makes no move unless directed to. What next?

RE: by the light of the moon - Delah - 07-15-2019

SHIT FUCK SORRY X 100000000000000000000

Delah expects the ascended woman to fight. It is what she would do, after all. That there is a muteness of her bones makes the fae raise a brow, though she says nothing. A trap? A honeypot? Is she the mother bird, faking injury to distract a predator while her children run? Ahh well. It is as she said: not their problem anymore.

The fae closest to Wessex bristles at her words, jaw clenching. He wants to ask how she could read the ruins, if she knows the stupidity of her words. But a look from Delah silences him. Still, the tension is clear on his youthfully deceptive face.

[say]"We shall see you to the edge of the village. From there, the woods will be more than happy to hasten your exit."[/say] Delah says, a predatory glint of gold in her eyes to assist with her night vision.

RE: by the light of the moon - Zariah - 07-15-2019

Oh? Quiet now was she? Fine by her.

With a wave of her hand, lightning manacles would appear, and should Wessex not do anything to interfere, wrap around her wrists, a cord of lightning held in the Queen’s hand attached to them. If she really wanted to run, she could, lightning wasn’t solid after all, but it probably wasn’t an experience anyone wanted to go through. Moreover, it was more a measure for Zariah to keep track of her. If the lightning bond was broken, she would know and act accordingly.

She nodded to Delah when she spoke. [say]”Thank you.”[/say] she said, perfectly content to have the escort out of the village. Once beyond the limits of it, they were left alone, the Queen eerily calm walking next to the Ascended prisoner in the darkened forest. Though truly she hoped to find themselves in their own lands quickly enough.
