Doctor, Doctor - Kalt - 11-17-2018
RE: Doctor, Doctor - Isla - 11-17-2018 Kalt was bored. Isla was... busy - very busy. She reminded herself that, one of these days, she was going to petition for a receptionist to stop people from wandering around the infirmary and through into the ward where the sick and injured were trying to rest. That would not be today, though. The flash of blonde the assassin would have seen would be her rushing into one of the treatment rooms in an effort to stem the bleeding from an injury someone had sustained. Going into the ruins and the fields and the woods and all manner of other places had proven quite... exciting, apparently, and people kept returning with all kinds of interesting hurts. [say]"Hello, Kalt,"[/say] she said without looking up from her work - she was putting pressure on the wound in the man's leg, though her initial assessment had shown he hadn't nicked an artery. [say]"Sure - could you keep pressure on this while I get my tools, please?"[/say] Remarkably unruffled by the presence of the stranger, she figured there would be time for pleasantries later. RE: Doctor, Doctor - Isla - 11-20-2018 [say]"It's a deep cut, but hopefully that pressure should make it possible to suture without too much of an issue,"[/say] Isla said, moving aside for Kalt and nodding to him gratefully as he took over. She crossed the room to grab the sutures and the needle she'd painstakingly found, sterilised and prepared - and with such limited supplies and equipment, she felt the cost of every stitch - before returning to Kalt's side. Their patient groaned at the sound of voices, an arm covering his eyes - Isla didn't think he'd be much trouble, and the majority of the pain was probably due to the fact that he'd walked all the way there on the injury. [say]"Jagged bit of metal, it looks like. He must have nicked himself while he was walking."[/say] Through the ruins, probably - that place was a bizarre conglomeration of stuff, or so she'd heard. [say]"Alright, if you could move the gauze?"[/say] She nodded to her apparent new nurse. RE: Doctor, Doctor - Kalt - 12-03-2018
RE: Doctor, Doctor - Isla - 12-03-2018 As one of the best doctors back in Northwind, and from a long line of them, in fact, Isla would be the judge of that. Luckily, so far in their interactions, Kalt had been nothing but helpful and efficient, and she had no complaints. He moved the gauze and her gaze was all for the injury, Isla glad for the silence between them punctuated only by the occasional grumbles from their patient. He held the wound just so and Isla proceeded to stitch, wasting not a moment and suturing the laceration closed with steady hands and a sharp eye. Of course, the man in the bed did not appreciate it at all, and it was only when she glanced up from her work that she realised he had fallen unconscious a few stitches ago. [say]"Well, at least he isn't going to bleed to death,"[/say] she murmured, straightening up and moving to clean herself and the equipment. [say]"Thank you, for your help."[/say] She smiled across at him. RE: Doctor, Doctor - Kalt - 12-15-2018
RE: Doctor, Doctor - Isla - 12-17-2018 [say]"Well your helping hand was very much appreciated today."[/say] Isla smiled across at him, drying her hands off once they were cleaned up, offering Kalt the towel as well. She seemed much more relaxed now that she wasn't in the middle of stitching up a screaming man, more amicable, more open to small talk. While she could have guessed it from the way he had stepped in without question to help with what she was doing, hearing that he was medically trained and not just some randomer who liked surgery was a relief. His offer, too, was one she readily appreciated. [say]"That would be wonderful,"[/say] she said, more than willing to take on people with both the experience and the intent to help do some good int his new realm. [say]"When can you start? I mean... we're busy today, if you'd like a quick tour to see where you might pitch in."[/say] RE: Doctor, Doctor - Kalt - 12-29-2018
RE: Doctor, Doctor - Isla - 12-29-2018 Whether intentional or not, Isla didn't miss the innuendo in Kalt's words, and she smirked across at him and shrugged her shoulders. [say]"Now's as good a time as any, then - for the tour and for the help. We are busy, but I can take a few minutes to show you around if it means an extra set of hands today."[/say] Her smile softened, Isla checking one more time on the patient they'd stitched up together before leading him from the treatment room. The tour wasn't long - the infirmary consisted of a small reception area, a large ward divided by several curtains, a few treatment rooms and a study. They had to move quickly because of the number of nurses and other helping hands Isla had already acquired - not enough, unfortunately. When they arrived at the reception, she smiled up at Kalt. [say]"Hopefully I haven't frightened you off,"[/say] she murmured. [say]"If you feel confident enough, please help out wherever you like. And if you need any assistance, come and find me."[/say] |
