RE: The Festival of Fiat Lux! - Phoebe - 12-31-2019

A lot happened all at once. Too much really. She was busy setting Melita's broken limbs, noting Remi needed help next as she heard Loren call out to her. Then, just as she finished her work, Sunjata came barrelling in passed her to get to Melita. [say]"Sunjata, get Melita out of here where she can rest. Melita, you will be most helpful out of harms way. Fangorn, make sure she stays put somewhere safe."[/say] Phoebe said to the three in a commanding tone as she stood, grabbing her things. She couldn't stay and chat, more needed to be done. Glancing at the former queen, she added to Wessex , [say]"Dying go to Abandoned healers. Injured go to other healers. Its the only way we will save as many as possible."[/say]

Then the midwife was off, running towards Remi and Loren. Someone had to take charge in this madness to keep some semblance of order.

She knelt next to them, assessing Remi's state. Quickly, she pulled out the Mortar and Pestle and began mixing up some pain numbing cream. [say]"This won't fix any wounds, but it will allow him to think more clearly. You focus on the worst injuries. I will take care of the rest."[/say] she said, already spreading the cream on Remi's worst wounds to help reduce the pain. With most of his body numbed, she set to suturing what she could, careful, small stitches to pull his body back together.

RE: The Festival of Fiat Lux! - Remi - 12-31-2019

Loren forced healing into his bones, pressing life into him. Ronin's singing and Aoife's laughter died away, the sullen screams of the world around him and the sky sun-shiny bright despite the horrors below pulled at his consciousness.

His eyelashes fluttered. Then opened.

Gasping in a full lung full of air, the alchemist half-sat up before pain ricocheted through his being. Whatever clothing he'd been wearing had been torn to shreds allowing for Phoebe 's application of balm, but the alchemist did his best to slap it away. He wanted the pain. If he was to be alive, by gods he wanted it to hurt.

Looking up at Loren with a feral heat in his eyes, no longer sea-glass green but now merely shattered jade, he stretched an arm up to grab at the healer's collar if he could to shove him away. There was little strength in the motion, but hate and grief enough to speak volumes into the gesture.

[say]"..made...a-prom..s.."[/say] The alchemist gurgled, eyebrows knitted together as blood trickled from his lips. [say]"Let...m..go..."[/say] He tried again, but he hardly wanted his strength for that.

Words didn't matter. Somewhere far away in the frenzy of it all Ronin might feel Remi's heartbeat against his finger. That didn't matter either.

Fingers suddenly jagged with claws, the alchemist tore at his own throat with one hand and the healed-circle of flesh on his stomach with the either. Have you ever seen what a lion's claws can do, up close and with no protection or defense?

He'd promised to keep her safe. The least he could now was not let her be alone.

RE: The Festival of Fiat Lux! - Sunjata - 12-31-2019

Of course, that had been the goal. To get her up and out of it, out of harms way. Out of the ensuing chaos that is people still running back and forth. And when his voice lights up her thoughts, dazed and fluttering, that’s when he sighs and removes his hands from her as she starts to move. She’s okay, she’s okay. He says nothing to Phoebe before the midwife bounds away, instead sitting back just enough to help her should she swerve as she stands.

Soon enough she’s standing and okay, and he can feel his bones aching as he goes to stand after her. At her comment, he nods, taking her hand to get her to follow, to not lose her as they make their way through the chaos to safety. He’s sure Fangorn will follow, and he continues on and on. Until familiar faces find him, and he falters in his exhausted state, body still coated and drenched in water, shirt torn as he lets Melita’s hand go.

“[say]Hey,[/say]” he rumbles to the sibling demigods they’ve found, gaze moving to Kaimana first and the broken leg he sees. Steel eyes cast to Oia next, still taking notes about one broken arm before he looks back to Melita. “[say]Help her, I’ll carry him.[/say]” It’s a smooth suggestion, pausing to get close to Kaimana. “[say]Kai, hey, it’s Sunjata. I’m just going to help you get somewhere else where someone can heal you, okay?[/say]” He tells the man that had helped him clean up after LongNight.

Swiftly, he lifts Kai to his chest, holding him close, nodding to Melita to keep going.

RE: The Festival of Fiat Lux! - Loren - 12-31-2019

The alchemist’s shove did little to actually dislodge the Launceleyn. As the hot blood splattered over Loren, though, his magic responded more quickly than he did, still pouring into Remi, already creeping into his throat and his stomach to repair the new damage. However, it didn’t take the summoner’s conscious mind to catch up with the fact that the alchemist had just torn himself open anew.

[say]”No!”[/say] It was more scream than word, and it was echoed in the mental anguish he broadcasted to every attuned in range. Sliding his hand down Remi's shoulder, Loren tried to jerk it over the alchemist's head, while the summoner reached out with his free hand to do the same to the Remi's other hand. If successful with either hand, the Launceleyn would have his unicorn sit on one or both hands, before it lowered its horn to add its magic to the mix as well. [say]"I need restraints or a sedative, preferably both!"[/say]

Loren and unicorn both heal Remi while trying to restrain his hands above his head and then having the unicorn sit on them.

RE: The Festival of Fiat Lux! - Remi - 12-31-2019

Blood burbles from Remi's throat as his lungs squeeze for more air, the blood cut off only by Loren's continued healing. With a feral snarl as his head is pushed to the side and his arms are pinned above him, the alchemist looks up at Loren with naught but hostility in his eyes.

Where oh where has the kindly alchemist gone? Away, away, away.. Now there is only a man covered in blood and sorrow and feathers and fur.

[say]"..not...yo-r.."[/say] Friend? Problem? Fault? Words fail him, but the mental whirlwind of emotions don't. There is only darkness in the alchemist now; only regret and a bright ball of fury and tangled hate that he's never known before.

Reaching inwardly for his magic but finding the wellspring there an eternity away, Remi's eyes roll up and back into his skull as he writhes beneath Loren's hands, infuriated that the summoner is now the stronger of the two.

RE: The Festival of Fiat Lux! - Oia'i'o - 12-31-2019

Human-animals make mating complicated Kai says, and isn't that the truth. You snort in whole-hearted agreement as you look around, trying to figure out how best to broach the subject of kissing and how to best evaluate what's happened, when...you know. It all sort of goes to hell.

You stand too, looking at the shattered ice wall and the massive mound of mud. [say]"It....its amazing."[/say] You've never seen memory mud like this before. [say]"Look how its all working together! Do you think it's one consciousness or multiple? Lets—"[/say]

But you won't, because your bones are breaking and your lungs are deflating. [say]"Fr..ee..z..e.."[/say] You whisper beneath a crushing amount of weight just as your spine is about to snap. And then he's there. The other one, not the kissy one (the...the other kissy one, not the bad kissy one) and he's got Kai and now he's telling someone else to help you, and you think you're probably going to lose your mind.

You want to scream, and so you do, reaching out for Kai with wide and tormented eyes. [say]"Put him down!"[/say] You scream, nearly incomprehensibly. You're almost as tall as Sunjata is, but still, Kai feels worlds away and you hate it. And so you do the thing that is least helpful in this moment.

You have an absolute meltdown.

You go nonverbal. You can't move. You can't do anything but hyperventilate and inwardly panic.

RE: The Festival of Fiat Lux! - Random Event - 01-01-2020

Remi and Aoife disappear.

RE: The Festival of Fiat Lux! - Lily - 01-01-2020

Someone comes! There’s nothing but relief in her face as pain courses through her body - the not-numb parts, that is.[say] “Thank you,”[/say] she whispers through exhaustion as Oliver begins to cut her down. She more or less falls on him at a certain point, one arm useless and the other arm numb from being trapped against the tree. All that’s left are her legs and before they can get to them, a red-headed healer appears. Deep breaths? Ok, she can do that…

Ragged, deep breaths push through her chest. There’s no damage there, other than bruises and the like. Some magic seems to move the tree so that they can pull her legs free and between the two helpers, Lily is… relatively ok.[say] “Thank you,”[/say] she offers Evie weakly, feeling returning to her once-boundn arm, but it may be a hot moment before she can actually walk off the field. Pointing to her useless arm, which just hangs there in dislocation, she calls out before the healer can leave earshot,[say] “Wait! My arm! It’s not - ”[/say] she pauses, looking at it.[say] “I don’t think magic can fix that.”[/say]

Nor is she able to help others so long as she can’t effectively grasp anything.

RE: The Festival of Fiat Lux! - Oliver - 01-02-2020

His attempts to free Lily by cutting away work out and Lily basically collapses into his arms. Dropping the knife onto the ground, Oliver tried to help free Lily from the mud. Once she had been freed, he proceed to still hold an arm around her until she was stable enough to stand. Thankfully, some girl from the kissing game was around to heal Lily, unfortunately, it didn't seem to fully heal her. With wide eyes, Oliver hid a gasp, looking at her shoulder.

[say]"Here, how about we get you somewhere safe. I can help you get to someone who can fix that shoulder of yours after I make sure nobody else needs immediate medical attention."[/say] It felt kind of rude to tell her that her situation wasn't serious enough for him to take immediate action, but he also hoped she understood him. Some people could be bleeding out and dying. Her issue wasn't one that was currently life threatening, so as much as he wanted her to be okay, he had to make sure nobody else was suffering far more.

If Lily allowed him to, he'd start to get her to somewhere safe to sit down before moving off to look for anyone else to help.

RE: The Festival of Fiat Lux! - Loren - 01-02-2020

Remi’s body disappeared from beneath Loren’s hands. Half draped over the alchemist as he’d been, the summoner fell forward, almost landing flat on his face. He blinked, trying to make sense of what’d just happened, glancing around for some sign of Remi.

But the other man, as well as Aoife, was just gone. Completely gone without a trace. His blood was still hot on the Launceleyn’s hands, but it was as if the alchemist himself had never been.

But a scream had lodged in the back of Loren’s mind, and he tore himself from the spot where Remi had been. The summoner dashed for where he’d heard Oia’i’o’s call. His heart sank when he finally spotted the half-hidden and seemingly unresponsive demi-god. Running forward, he knelt by her side. [say]”I’m going to touch you so that I can heal you.”[/say] The unicorn had followed him on an almost unconscious order, and the Launcelyn laid on hand on her shoulder, while the unicorn laid its horn on the other.

Healing magic poured from both of them, and Loren raised his free hand to use his water magic to free the daughter of Rae from the prison that had crushed her. [say]”You’ll be okay. Just stay with me. Please. Please stay with me.”[/say] The pleading in his voice was apparent, and he was barely holding back his tears.

RE: The Festival of Fiat Lux! - Oia'i'o - 01-02-2020

[say]"NO."[/say] You scream, because you don't want to be healed, you just want Kai to be put down, and you want everything to just stop so that you can have a moment to think. But it doesn't stop, and Loren is still there with another unicorn and you're shying away like a frightened fawn.

What's more, you don't understand Loren's tone. You don't understand what he needs, and that helping and healing you might be as much for him as it is for you. So you run away, after Sunjata and Kai, needing your twin.

RE: The Festival of Fiat Lux! - Kaimana - 01-02-2020

Things that were maybe not a good plan.

1. Walking closer to the giant mud monster.

2. Attempting to talk down said giant mud monster.

3. Getting slapped in the chest with a huge chunk of ice when said mud monster exploded a wall of said ice into a hundred thousands of said huge chunks.

It thwumps you right in the chest, sending you flying backward into the ground. Which usually would not be a terrible idea, but the ground is covered with broken wood and rocks and such... one of which your head strikes firmly, leaving you a bit unconscious for a minute or two. Not the first time, not the last, but definitely not what you planned to do with your first Fiat Lux festival.

When you come to you are no longer on the ground, which is an improvement. You are, however, being held by a very tall man you don't immediately recognize who is in turn being screamed at by a voice you definitely recognize. Panic and alarm filling your face at the sound of you sister's distress, you slip around in Sunjata's arms, suddenly animated and rather desperate as you scramble to escape your prison and reach your sister's side. [say]"'I'O!"[/say] you call back in reply, [say]"'S okay! I'm okay! 'S gonna be okay!"[/say]

If you manage to escape Sunjata's grip you will scramble to her despite your two fractured ribs and bruised sternum and recent concussion, wrapping your arms around her protectively, your expression almost close to feral as you glare up at anyone who attempts to separate you again.

RE: The Festival of Fiat Lux! - Melita - 01-03-2020

Useless. Gods, she hated being useless.

But there were too many broken barbs in her soul, in her body, and she followed along behind Sunjata blindly, mind warped and fogged, deluded and numbed to every other pinnacle sharpening its knife around her. She wished she was better. She wished she was stronger. She wished the world wasn’t so damned and broken every time they thought they got a foothold. Before she could manage to do anything (and what - what would she have done anyway?), Sunjata had hold of Kai, and Oia’i’o was screaming, and everything ricocheted around her. The youth thought to offer her hands, but one was in a sling and the other reached for nothing – the air still, murky, distant, like she was breathing underwater. Her eyes wound over to Sunjata’s, shaking her head, his best efforts perhaps unneeded, unwarranted, a croaking in her throat for the twins, for the pair. [say]“Do you need anything?”[/say] Besides one another or healing, maybe just more shoulders to lean on, maybe just a way out; she wasn’t altogether sure – naught she could truly provide.

RE: The Festival of Fiat Lux! - Evie - 01-03-2020

Evie hesitates as Lily calls her back, voice strained and plaintive. Oliver speaks to her, but Evie returns swiftly before she has even made a single step, hands finding the proper places on the limp dislocated shoulder. [Say]"Its going to hurt like hell, and you need to keep it around your abdomen level until someone can sling it for you, but it will be usable in an emergency."[/say] Her voice is clinical but soft, proud of the woman beneath her hands for wanting to help even in the wake of her own injuries.

[Say]"On three okay? One, two..."[/say] And with a sharp push she relocates the joint, intentionally doing so before the count to try and keep Lily from tensing up. Her magic seeps in behind it, easing the pain and ache, helping it along so that she can use it if need be before it's in a sling. [Say]"My name is Evie. Yell for me if anybody else needs help okay?"[/say] So saying she turns and begins to scan for others in need of her particular talents.
