RE: Freefall (Open) - Kiada - 01-14-2020

She lets Adam decide how he wants to do it on his own this time, having had her fun – though the amusement and fun still reverberates on her end of the Attuned bond, and with it she sits on the top of the Spire having made it with the race (granted getting a head start was partially part of the fun) and she settles in, waiting, thinking of how she wants to do it this time. So she shifts into her caracal form, paws gripping the slick surface of the top of the Spire, and when it’s her turn, she begins with a run before diving off the top – her ear tufts waving around with the wind despite having them pinned to her head.

About half way down she shifts to her vulture form, heart thundering in her chest, adrenaline beating in her ears, and she releases a guttural cry from above them all before she lands softly into the grasses below. Shifting into herself once she reaches it, she lays back against the grass to catch her breath with a hum of a laugh breathlessly leaving her lips. [say]That’s surprisingly fun.[/say] She tells them through their link, icy gaze looking about to the both of them.

RE: Freefall (Open) - Adam - 01-17-2020

Adam ran to the edge until the Spire was no longer under his feet, air replacing the hard ground and then he was sinking down, toppling over as he lost control of how he was moving; he closed his eyes and concentrated, shifting a little bit at a time - feathers, then wings, then a little smaller, feet...until just before he hit the ground, the little bird caught an up-draft and soared away to meet Kiada and Deimos again, shifting back to a human and tumbling next to Kiada on the grass.

[say]"Whoo. Yeah. Maybe we should make this a tradition or something."[/say] He pushed a hand through his hair, laughing. His fear from before had disappeared now, erased by another successful jump. [say]"...I think I mighta had enough for today, though."[/say]

Adam looked between Deimos and Kiada, waiting to see if either of them wanted to continue; personally he'd had enough with two jumps, enough to feel he'd done something dangerous and exciting.

RE: Freefall (Open) - Deimos - 01-18-2020

Stoked finales – he watched as they descended, alternating in techniques and form. He hadn’t thought about descending first as tiger or bear; he’d done the former before, when ensuring Roana didn’t escape from their militia clutches (and for what, later on - nothing), and never the latter. More opportunities would be presented then, if Adam’s traditional values held, and he snorted through their bonds, connections, and accord. At least the fear had dissipated, no longer so strung between their platitudes, and the eagle extended his wings again, shuffling the feathers back into their rightful places. [say]We can end here[/say] he suggested on Adam’s successes and their combined efforts. Were he capable of shrugging, he would’ve; but not in this framework, piercing eyes laden back upon Kiada, waiting for the agreement, or the eventual dissipation – flying and gliding in different directions all over again.

Adam manages to land as well, shifting into himself and tumbling down beside her while she tries to catch her breath. She sits up somewhat, propping herself on an elbow as she peers over at him – something about it so reminiscent of the time they spent in the pit, but rather than the stone bed they’d all had to share, this was better. Far more freeing.

She hears Deimos agree to end it, and she nods in agreement with a soft chuckle, falling back into the grass. [say]I’m good with that.[/say] She agrees through another quiet fit of snickers at what they’d done, the rush they’d felt. How the wind between her feathers felt different here than it did all the other times. When she’s finally ready, she sits up a bit more fully to seek out Deimos, a childish grin spread across her face.
