RE: the time ticks by - Sunjata - 03-09-2020

They certainly begin to start opening up as the wine sets in. The mention of Haai and happiness and the giggles he hears does spark a slight raised brow, amusement lingering in his face at the results of what two glasses of wine could do. Ah, he misses those days. So he nods to Quanil instead, offering a small shrug as if the griffin could answer for herself.

But then, they begin to ask if the reason he runs a bar is because it makes people happy, going on along with it as Sunjata tries to think up what the answer would be. It’s far more complicated than that, but in the end he just offers a brighter smile to Quanil with a small nod, pushing away from leaning against the bar to survey the rest of the people that have entered and found some comfort within. “[say]It does make people happy.[/say]” He agrees, raising his glass to Quanil and downing the rest of the contents before putting the corks back in the bottles and setting them in their respective places.

"You're a nice man, Mr. Sunjata, shir." They nodded in agreement with themselves. "And I'm gonna be a good worker to help make people happy, too! 's what a Loreseeker shoul' do!"

They tried to raise their fist to their heart and stare off into the middle distance heroically, like the illustrations in the storybooks, but they thumped their chest a little hard and wheezed instead. "Sorry. 'm still new to thish." {hic!}

They looked around at the other patrons and smiled. "'s jus' lots of happy peoples," and they were back to nodding again. "'s no wonder there's alwaysh alc'hol a' the festifalls." They turned back to Mr. Sunjata sir, all smiles. "A good, good man," they declared again. "'Cause you make people happy an' you have Miss Haai an' you rebuilt the Temple! An' helpin' me, too."

It’s… Awkward to take compliments like that. That he’s doing something so simple, so relatively meaningless to him that Quanil views as a good act, enough so to call him a good man. Sunjata was anything but a good man, but he’d rather not delve into those topics with the youth. So he offers a slight smile and a nod to that and just how drunk they get.

So with all the smiles, Sunjata pushes off from the bar and rounds the edge, gesturing for Quanil to follow. “[say]Don’t forget to drink your water. I’ll have some sent to your room.[/say]” He offers with a slight wink, looking down to them as he stands his full height. “[say]Let’s get you there and you can relax, alright?[/say]”

"Right. Water is good. THE ELEMENT OF LIFE!" they declared a bit too loudly. "'s good, water's good, I'll definitely drink it, shir. I promise 'll be a good help." They were happy to follow Mr. Sunjata shir, but then they stopped and looked up at him.

"You are very very tall." It wasn't that they hadn't seen him before, of course; they'd worked on the Temple together, but it just now really HIT Quanil how very TALL Mishter Sunjata shir WAS. "Tall and good. Good and tall." They giggled. "Like with plants. 'Good 'n' tall'. Is good for crops. You are a very crop, shir."

They were happy to do as told and lay down in their new room, relax, drink their water, and, eventually, giggle themselves to sleep. Or Shleep, as the case may be.

{Finished!}
