don't go blindly into the dark - Rexanna - 04-30-2020

They’d all worked hard to get the word out and help set up anything the Grounders might need for their trek to Halo. Halo had been prepped and checked out, rooms spared and made up, empty aside from bodies and belongings for the long season ahead. But there were things set in place – the ability to try and reach out to Neron with letters to ensure things went well, the ability to try and keep as many eyes on them with trusted people in charge, to try and keep everything to a minimum that might end up turning wrong and sideways very quickly.

And when the day arrives, when the bags and belongings are wrapped up, Rexanna knows that she’s staying. But that doesn’t mean she can’t show up to try and ensure that this is what’s best for a majority of those that dwell within the Hollowed Grounds. It’s also beneficial to keep a tally of who’s where, to know what to expect when LongNight arrives and voices come crawling out of the other side of the walls.

And so she waits, with parts of her council, to ensure that those that pass through to Halo do so swiftly before the snow sets in and blocks the portals for good, given whatever items and things they might need to make it more bearable.

Please post at least once in this thread if your character plans on going to Halo within the next five days – that way we know who’s where for the season! THANK U <3

RE: don't go blindly into the dark - Deimos - 04-30-2020

There were other options this year for Deepfrost, to ensure safety in their collective numbers, to attempt and strive for less and less casualties. While some of them would stay, himself included, either due to duty, heralds’ tasks, or tradition, the General intended to at least assist in these movements and motions. One more opportunity for them to see off their number in relative safety, compliance, with supplies in check.

He’d come with his own sack of necessities, and stood beside Rexanna now, the bag opened, the collected bombardments of steel glinting from within. He prospered a taut, unyielding, rigid stance, ready to hand out and disperse daggers and stilettos, other smaller weapons for defensive purposes. They didn’t know what they might face in Halo, for all the talks and discussions of sanctities, Deimos had also experienced the battering armaments and assaults for himself.

[say]Deimos is here to hand out weapons to your characters. Take one if you wish![/say]

RE: don't go blindly into the dark - Jigano - 04-30-2020

Jigano had been up late the past few days, burning his magic at both ends to finish the last preparations for those taking refuge in Halo. He stood beside Deimos, trying to hide his yawns as he offered a large sack to each adult and teenager passing through. Between them he offered comforting smiles and murmured words of encouragement, Outlanders and Naturals alike.

Each sack contained a large portion of grain, two dozen potatoes, carrots, onions, another dozen apples, oranges made in Torchline, and five pounds of flour. Not enough, perhaps, to get someone by for the entire season, but enough to supplement what people were bringing on their own, and the more general stores he had already helped haul out to the Palace over the past several weeks.

A very tired Jigano hands out sacks of food for those that want a little extra to get them by.

RE: don't go blindly into the dark - Kiada - 04-30-2020

She doesn’t know who else is going to Halo, aside from some of the Grounders that are planning on heading to the colder climate. All she knows is that Deimos had asked her to keep an eye on them, and so she does. Packing what she can take for her essentials, to work on her training, and simply enjoy her time there as much as she could – trying her best to put on her brave face of not worrying about those that would remain in the Grounds.

It only half works.

She spots her mother – dipping her head and nothing else, before her attention sweeps to Deimos and the weapons he offers as Auni winds his way around her legs. “[say]Stay safe.[/say]” She tells him audibly, reaching for one of those weapons she doesn’t need but that might come in handy if someone else required one. Then, she leans in and gives him a tight hug and a small smile. [say]Love you Deimos.[/say] She offers through the bond instead, hoping it doesn’t come across as a full goodbye but rather a ‘we’ll see you when the flowers start to bloom again’.

To Jigano she offers a soft smile, apologetic in not continuing the quest this year but she’s still too weak, too fragile mentally to give it a go. She hopes Ludo understands. And even if it doesn’t, she’ll be at least spending the time trying to keep souls safe within the confines of the snowy grounds. She takes one of the backs that he’s prepared, dipping her head to him as a thank you. “[say]Thanks Jigano. Good luck with LongNight.[/say]”

And then, she waits for the rest of everyone to gather before she slips away to guide them through the portal, to the Citadel and rooms that have been set aside for them all.
