Hot air for a cool breeze, cold comfort for change - Morgan - 10-20-2020

It was a journey she needed to make, even if she felt that those not taking the Voice's cure were stubborn fools. Morgan could not willingly hold onto something that kept others from recovering, not when she knew where to take it; following directions from those that had been to give lilies, she had ventured into the Climb with Eunike and a few guards. It had taken a while to find the waterfall, the spaces where the flowers belonged, but she did: with an almost reverent silence she stepped forwards to place the bloom inside.

She wasn't sure if she was expecting anything to happen, but she did watch for a moment. Eventually Morgan nodded, turned to leave and held Eunike's reins; she had done her part and those that had left flowers before her had too. Hopefully soon enough of them would that the illness could be a memory long left behind.

RE: Hot air for a cool breeze, cold comfort for change - Chulane - 10-25-2020

All the drama surrounding the extraction of the full instructions had been lost on Chuy - he'd been too busy caring for the sick, but also feeding the region. On top of everything else, he had continued to be a delivery boy, to support the frosty region with a common place to store excess foods from hunts and trades with the other regions, to prepare for the harsher seasons that were on their way.

But he had read the instructions all the same. And besides, he had wanted to take Auni to the Climb, for similar reasons as to why he had ventured to the Climb originally, all those weeks ago. The luxere had been bonded to Kiada after all, and held similar impulses and desires for adventure and exploration - not nearly as many as his original bondmate, of course.

They travelled carefully, far more prepared this time than they had been previously. They rested regularly, and drank some of the water they had collected from the pools to keep energy levels up. And when they found the place where some lillies had already been placed, they paused and reflected, and placed the lily Chuy had found in an empty hold.

There were still spots to be filled, and he hoped others would find more of the mysterious flowers and work together to place them before it was too late. Then, man and luxere turned and made their way out once again, much the same as before - slow and steady, with plenty of breaks and rests.
