RE: build a house, build a home - Aurelia - 06-22-2021 Aurelia nods quietly to Maeve's words, glancing up at her when she winks, before returning to her work with a slight flush in her face. Her jawline tightens into a hard line, which sticks around until she's moved on to working on the footbridge. With the help of the other volunteers, she hopes to get off to a good start. She gathers together with a few of the more knowledgeable men and women, debating over the best way to approach the task as well as factoring in appearances. How it'll look in the end matters, after all. With that squared away, she directs volunteers to specific tasks as they're needed. Half of her time is spent overseeing it, hoping to ensure things are done properly, and the other half is spent committing her own hard labors to the mix. Aurelia talks with the volunteers to form a plan for the footbridge and spends equal time making sure it's started properly as well as giving them a hand. RE: build a house, build a home - Maeve - 06-22-2021 The new tasks are given out and everyone spreads out to start working on their new jobs. Seren proceeds with her curtain hanging, startling quite a few individuals in the process, but it seems that Seren has a knack for hanging curtains. With the help of her gravity pulse, she is able to not only hang the curtains in the main area, but also in all of the other rooms. The starchild could have a go at interior design if she ever wanted to. [say]"Everything looks great, Seren. You can help Rin with the rest of the sconces if you want or help Aurelia seal the footbridge."[/say] The Madame suggests, giving him a grin. Thankfully the fence around the property doesn't need too much work. It didn't sustain nearly the same amount of damage as the building itself. Instead it just needs very minor mending. With the help of his group, Sunjata gets it taken care of in record time. A few boards need to be replaced, but that's easily done. All that's left is a fresh coat of paint and fixing the latch on the gate. Hanging sconces is perhaps more challenging than Fourth round is done and final round is starting now! 1. Seren finishes hanging up curtains and can either help Aurelia or Rin with their tasks! 2. Sunjata finishes repairing the fence and just needs to paint it and fix the gate! 3. 4. No posting order! RE: build a house, build a home - Seren - 06-22-2021 Sunjata's brief nod was met with a bright smile in return. Seren hoped that whatever was weighing on him would improve once they were done with this build. Doing work with the hands felt good, after all. In the zone now and with a feeling as if nothing could go wrong, Seren beamed at Maeve as her work was praised. [say]"Thank you! I'm having fun,"[/say] she laughed and pranced off, to find something else to do. Looking between Aurelia and the new girl, Rin, Seren went off to aid the latter. Since her floating trick had worked so well before, it should be no trouble to attach a few sconces to the walls. [say]"Here, let me help you with that,"[/say] she offered with a warm smile, and promptly nicked a few of the brackets before sauntering off. A few helpful volunteers left standing around were roped into fetching bolts and tools, and off Seren went again, drifting from room to room while humming a quiet sea shanty to herself. Seren helps Rin hang the rest of the sconces! RE: build a house, build a home - Aurelia - 06-22-2021 The plan to do things in an orderly fashion proves successful, and Aurelia's mood lifts with it. Soon, she's offering her appreciations and praises to the workers who are helping her - and she'll help someone else in return if it looks like they're struggling with things. Her energy, overall, becomes positive and helpful. By the time they're all done, Aurelia's celebrating with little congratulatory remarks to the volunteers. [say]"Alright, all we have to do now is seal it all. Then, it'll be perfect!"[/say] She divvies out the supplies to the volunteers where they're posted, and once she's down to the last of them, she starts on one end of the footbridge. She'll make her way down with the rest of them, engaging in some casual small talk with her help. If there are spots that were missed, she simply takes care of it. Hopefully, by the time they're done, there won't be anything they missed. Aurelia and her volunteers seal the footbridge and Aurelia is quite happy with their work~ RE: build a house, build a home - Sunjata - 06-22-2021 He is quietly grateful that the fencing doesn’t require too much work. He’s also quietly grateful that it goes off fairly smoothly between him and the group he’s in charge of. They make quick work of fixing up the fences from the damage from the monsoons and after a moment, he’s stepping back to evaluate their work. It appears all that’s left is paint and fixing the latch on the gate. So he separates his group off, asking for some of them to get started painting while a few of them work with him on repairing the latch, ensuring that it works, and hopefully by the end of it, a newly repaired and repainted fence will stand in place of the one damaged by the storm. Sunjata gets his group to start painting and help him repair the latch! RE: build a house, build a home - Rin - 06-22-2021 Volunteering turned out to be very hard, apparently. Between the paint falling on top of her and the painful slowness of hanging the sconces, Rin seems to be the worst volunteer out of them, running into complications every few minutes of any task she chooses to work on. This is why she is not surprised to see everyone done with their tasks but her (again). Maeve wanders from volunteer to volunteer once more, telling each of them what to work on next and even sending extra volunteers to help the girl hang sconces. The floaty woman she sends handles the task in a way that is much more effective, wandering from room to room and levitating to hard-to-reach spots and fitting the sconces to the wall very well. When she gets to Rin, she gives her a much-needed ladder and helps her work on the first floor, enabling her to finish it and move onto the upper parts of the building. As she goes from room to room, she begins to wonder what exactly Halenani is, noticing that every room seems to have the same designated purpose. Rin continues hanging sconces. RE: build a house, build a home - Maeve - 06-22-2021 The last few hours of work in the day are the hardest and Maeve thinks that if it were anyone else, they would have surely thrown in the towel, but the five of them and their volunteers power through. With an enthusiasm that is almost hard to swallow given the exhaustion everyone is feeling, Maeve flits from group to group. She brings lemonade, snacks, an encouraging smile, and whatever else is needed to get the job done. She's all too happy to help. This is her baby, after all. Weeks and weeks of work and preparations are finally coming together for her. The home that she lost now brand new and whole again. Maeve has to take a moment for herself lest she start crying in front of everyone. Inside, Seren and [say]"I want to thank you for all of your help with not only the rebuilding of my home, but the rebuilding of my business. Without your help, I wouldn't have been able to get this done. I appreciate it more than you could ever know."[/say] Maeve speaks to the group collectively, smiling brightly as the tears finally prick her eyes and she swallows against the tightness in her throat. [say]"If any of you ever need anything from me, just let me know. I owe you one."[/say] The PQ to rebuild the Halenani is complete! You can use this for your leveling needs and also all of those who participated have one favor to cash in with Maeve! Thanks for all of the help! ~FIN <3~ |
