Well at the very least, Locke manages to get his blunder behind him as he simply works incredibly deftly with the shovels. It shows in Milo’s face as he arrives, red brows raised in a hint of surprise as he regards the man, Locke is suddenly hitting something within the sand. The smuggler doesn’t miss the nod given his way by Jack and he’s certainly not about to ignore an order from his Captain, though, and so he immediately scrambles to work.

He helps Locke lift the box out of the sand, and tries to work with him to bring it back to the row boat without falling into the water again, praying for the best situation when it comes down to it. Only time will tell as his muscles burn while he helps bring it back, trying to follow Melita’s footprints as diligently as possible.

Milo helps Locke lift the box and helps him carry it to the row boat!

The thunk is the most satisfying thing to happen on the trip but that's not saying much. He gives Jack a kind of lopsided grin, even if he didn't help at all. It's fine. Clearly Locke's secret ability is physical labor or some shit. He waits for Milo, leaning down and helping him carry the chest to the row boat. They're both strapping young chaps right? It should be fine. Plus, he's more than keen to find out what's inside. A pirate he may not be but he won't deny the raven-like urge to have shinies. If Jack lets them have anything that is.. Maybe he'll just steal it.

That's it, then - they grab up their box of goodies, whatever it may be, and tromp away over the sands to the rowboat. And they're lucky in that the islands don't come or go in the time it takes them, and the Ark as well, is still bobbing merrily away in the near distance. Jack watches Milo and Locke load up the chest, waves a hand for them to take an oar each (sorry Melita, he doesn't trust you) and takes up a position scouting himself.

And away they drift, away and away into the great deep blue, joining up with the (heh) mothership and heading further out across the waves. It will still be some time before they reach their final destination, and honestly, as far as Jack is concerned, they can take their time. The mudflats of the Feverlands can wait.
