[se] there's a myth - Melita - 08-02-2021

Wandering until light steps became motions over roots and ferns, eyes downcast, bare feet kicking at rocks and stones until she found another one to sit upon. There were only so many times one could read a letter – trying to discern everything intertwined. And with no response to her own rejoinder yet, she was only left to stare at the crinkled note, unfolded and on her lap, to peruse, examine, and figure out just what was going on. Why change occurred so rapidly. How she was ever going to constantly adapt to the unwinding multitudes. What leadership alterations meant too; in the foreboding sense of other parallels on the horizon. More than once she stared down at the paper and sighed, sitting upon her rock outside the Peepholes, ignoring the cavern-like structure behind her.

For better or for worse; she could hardly say at the moment.

[say]“Well, Fangorn,”[/say] the fiery youth uttered, catching the gourd’s attention as he sniffed at one of the obvious apertures. [say]“What are we going to do about this mess, hm?”[/say] She waved her uncle’s scrawl around, as if the pumpkin would have any inclination, for she certainly didn’t, and received a grumble in reply. There would be the house they left behind to consider, or where they were even going…and why, after a season of avoiding them, it still hurt.
