RE: can you feel the sun? - Sunjata - 08-16-2021

Sunjata doesn’t quite know how deep it goes, the resentment Ronin feels toward the twins. But Sunjata knows that he wasn’t too thrilled when he found out either – at the very least, though, he doesn’t have to be around them. The sense of betrayal Ronin likely felt was a similar one Hotaru probably felt when he’d returned with the news of Kamaria.

Either way, though, conversation of Safrin overtakes them and Sunjata pulses his best attempt of soothing toward the Lullaby. [say]It is what it is, unfortunately.[/say] There wasn’t anything else to be done. Sunjata’d made his choice. Chose his family. Left. Only time would tell what would change. [say]She only wants me prepared for when war comes.[/say] And perhaps time away would give him a better head on his shoulders.

He does, however, trot himself a bit closer to Remi with the relief that swells through the other man over the talk of his son. [say]Kamaria was already fiveish when she arrived. Luckily I got to skip the whole diaper changes.[/say] There’s a huff of a laugh that leaves the panther. [say]Sounds like he takes a bit after you in some ways, hm?[/say] There’s only the shared feeling of pride and excitement for Remi, a feeling he knows all too well given the interest Kamaria’s taken with animals and the like. He doesn’t know if his attuned shifts have influenced it at all, but regardless it certainly bolsters some pride.

Sunjata's soothing does little to smooth down Remi's hackles, not with what he's just heard and with what he knows of Safrin. The secret that keeps his son living and breathing swells on his tongue and flares in his mind so much so that the alchemist has to block the Flood out altogether lest any part of it warble through their bond.

[say]Ah, it is not so bad.[/say] The manticore murmurs, of changing diapers. [say]I am not so sure about that. He is a far more level-headed child than I ever was.[/say] The smell of water grows stronger as the roar of the Stonesong fills their ears. Ahead a house boat bobs merrily on the water, anchored below so that it won't drift away.

[say]Home sweet home.[/say] Remi says with a relaxed sigh. [say]Ronin is probably inside napping if you care to go and scare him awake.[/say]

Oh he’s completely unaware of the whole deal between Remi and Safrin, but he is aware of just how much the Lullaby loathed the goddess. He finds it not that much unlike Nate’s own dislike of both he and Ronin’s respective deity, and he prefers to leave it lie where it is rather than continue to bring it up.

The panther’s whiskers twitch in uncertainty as Remi mentions changing diapers to not be too bad, there’s the flickering of his tail back and forth as well, a small laugh leaving him at the honesty shared between them. [say]Kamaria is too. Though she did inherit my tendency of pushing boundaries.[/say] But there’s one thing he’s inherently proud of and it’s the fact that she hasn’t ever had to deal with the types of traumas he had growing up.

The houseboat is upon them, though, and the information from Remi is met with an air of mischief as the panther darts ahead toward the home, trying to decide how best to surprise his best friend. But before he gets too far, he does stop in his steps to look back over his shoulder. [say]Thanks, Remi.[/say]

And then he’s off, quietly making his way to the door so that he might be able to wake the Huntsman from his slumber.
