Slowly, Cam tries to move a little closer to a calico cat lying on someone's garden wall. The cat looks up at them, and Cam freezes.
[say]"It's OK,"[/say] Cam says, trying to make their voice soothing. [say]"I just want to be friends."[/say]
On their way to the Artist's Sanctuary after lunch (or after lunchtime, anyway; they don't eat anymore), they spotted the cat and became instantly smitten. It's been way too long since they petted a cat! They're determined to get a chance to do so now -- or at least start on the long and finicky process of befriending the animal -- however silly they might look as they inch their way over to it, making little noises. Dignity is overrated; cats are more important.
