She wasn't going to burn him. Really. That wasn't her goal. Not when there were so many other ways to make him squirm. Maeve bares her teeth, snarling right back at him in a primal display, pupils nothing more than pinpoints as she tracks his movements. It's an addicting little back and forth they're playing at and Maeve isn't ready to call it quits. Not now, not ever.
He lunges for her again and she's already ready to retaliate. That's until he shifts into the crow, making her duck down and abandon her attack as his talons snag in her hair, tugging sharply at the long locks.
