How do you tell someone who was in love with you, that you don't remember them?
How do you apologize for what you cannot remember? For feelings you don't and can't ever have remembered feeling?
Remi, poor with words despite his pretty handwriting, had no idea. In all likelihood his efforts would in no way be a suitable apology, but of course he had to try.
He always had to try.
And so, wrapped neatly in ribbon with a feather through the knot (based on their previous meeting, at least Sam knew that he was a hawk), Remi left a note on the bookmaker's door.
