RE: [RQ] push, to keep the dark from coming - Varus - 06-07-2022

“[say]Consider it done, General.[/say]” Varus rumbles, flashing a wink Wessex’s way should she turn to look, a small smile tugging on his features. It fades quickly though as the task comes to hand, focusing on searching for that herb. It should be easy, though, given the fact that most of everything is barren for the cool temperatures.

Loki’s call grabs Varus’ attention, gaze snapping back toward the dragon as Wessex speaks, snorting lightly. He nods at the mention of knowing what the herb looks like, drawing up slightly as the speaking squirrels try to gather their attention even more. “[say]Yeah, can’t be too hard to find.[/say]” Aside from the fact it wasn’t a commonly found vegetation like a weed. If you knew what you were looking for, it’d be easy.

He picks a path not unlike the one the squirrels try to guide them down, scanning the base of the hedges for any sign of green.

RE: [RQ] push, to keep the dark from coming - Alexander - 06-08-2022

Alexander nods at her words, figuring it was easy enough for him to handle, but hoping it wouldn’t come to that. He didn’t want to have to deal with Banshees either. [say]”Happy to help, general.”[/say] He says easily, glancing back towards Varus as he repeats much the same in response to the request. Shifting his bag on his shoulder, Alexander pressed forward after his counterparts, eyes scanning the ground for the herb as they walk. It’s easy to stay with them, sandwiched between them as he is, Loki flying above them and leading them towards their destination.

With the two of them and Loki setting the pace, there isn’t much time to dilly dally, the four of them on a mission to find the herb in question. [say]”How much of it do we need?”[/say]

RE: [RQ] push, to keep the dark from coming - Wessex - 06-10-2022

She genuinely can’t tell if they’re joking with her or not when they use her technical title, so Wessex keeps her chuff brief and offers a grin to the dark hedges around her.[say] “I’m not sure. Best to get as much as we can carry, just in case. It’s supposed to help us throughout all of the Grounds.”[/say] They soldier on, going deeper into the maze with only a couple of wrong turns and some backtracking - even with Loki’s eyes above them, the Labryinth is a living thing. It plays its own kind of tricks.

Eventually, Cal’s choice will lead them down a corridor with some more stalky-y looking plants. There’s just that first one or two clusters to begin with, but as the group proceeds further back, they’ll find that the herb is growing quite well, and there’s plenty to harvest and fill their bags.

Last round!

RE: [RQ] push, to keep the dark from coming - Varus - 06-10-2022

It’s a good thing he’s brought a little pack with him, then, if they’re to gather as much as they can carry. And between them all as they walk through the maze, picking directions and back tracking, there’s a little splotch of green that brings a broad smile to Varus’ face. “[say]Gotcha.[/say]” He crows with a bit of amusement, moving toward the more sparse plants to pluck the efas herb and situate it into his pack.

It only fills a little bit of the way though, and luckily when they move back he can fill it more with the surprisingly bright vegetation against the sea of white and grey Deepfrost has always brought to the Grounds. He still plucks them even when his bag is full to help the rest of them fill their own, content when he’s positive they have more than enough.

Varus fills his bag with the herb!

RE: [RQ] push, to keep the dark from coming - Alexander - 07-05-2022

All of them had thought to prepare for the fact that they would need to transport a good amount of the herb back to the Grounds thankfully. Each take their turns filling their respective bags, pouches, or whatever means they brought with them. Wessex and Varus first. Once they're own containers are filled to the brim, Alexander kneels down to do the same with his own, careful not to smoosh the herbs too much while also filling his pack as full as he can manage it.

Feeling satisfied with their harvest, Alexander straightens with a nod of thanks to Varus, [say]"This should do the trick, no?"[/say] He grins, closing his pack once more and following their lead to exit the maze once more.

Alex fills up his bag!

RE: [RQ] push, to keep the dark from coming - Wessex - 07-07-2022

It’s smooth sailing from here on out; the odd little trio harvests all the Efas herb they can find, stuffing their bags until they’ve cleared the vicinity of the plant. As Wessex rises for the last time, dusting off her hands, she glances at the sky and sees the faint grey glow of dawn above the hedges. With a glance to Alexander and Cal, she calls out,[say] “Looks like the sun is coming up - best get back. I think we’ve got enough.”[/say] And if they didn’t, they’d come back and get more. A silly little banshee ain’t gonna keep them away.

So with Loki once again serving as a guide, the three of them make their way out of the Labryinth and Wessex takes Alexander’s bag, so she and Cal can bring the bags to Isla - who’s in charge of the next part of the quest.
