Ah, so it had been obvious. No wonder she'd been so huffy.
Replacing the comb into the bag, Maea tucked her hands into the pockets. Just to make sure nothing else of actual value had been lost. But the compass was still safe, and her own shoulders came down in a relaxation that was entirely without breath. A bad habit, those deep inhales she had taken to doing. They were wholly unnecessary.

You don't happen to know what men like in the way of things, do you?"[/say] It probably made her a very bad sister, to have no clue what sort of material things her family might appreciate. Or just a thoroughly minimalist soul with little need for possessions.
