It was meant to be a quick jaunt to Torchline. She was simply planning to pick up the strawberries she needed for the sweet rolls, but the Shrike couldn't resist the temptation of wandering down to the water. Especially with the cooler temperatures lingering in the air. It was more bearable than the last time she was here. Frigid air nipping at her bare arms in a way that was familiar to home despite the sand beneath her feet. She takes a moment, burying her toes in the sand, listening to the waves crash against the shore.
The Shrike didn't have a desire to leave Halo. Not for somewhere like Torchline, but it was nice. Different. Cordelia lets her eyes flutter open, blinking in the sunlight as she breathes in the salty air coming off the sea. It didn't escape her that this weather was unusual for the balmy coastline, but that didn't stop her from enjoying it.
