"Oh... well, um. I hope things stay safe for you there, then," he offered awkwardly, unsure what to say as his nose wrinkled in thought. Someone needed to stay safe if the worst came to pass. And it would sure be nice to have some healers held back who could help out in the aftermath!
"Maybe I'll see you around again, after everything... well. Afterwards." He flashed her a wan grin, knowing his own choices made his survival of the coming weeks far more uncertain. "It was nice meetin' you, Phoebe. An' Pim, an' you too, Branbast," he added at Boreal's reminding snort. The dragon gave Pim and the sleepy feline a farewell trill and then took Tal's hand in her mouth, teeth just very lightly indenting the skin as she began to tug him down the stairs. "Uh... guess we're goin' now. Bye!" he called back as he followed the dragon. He even waited until he was down a turn of the stairs before he began to scold her with fond exasperation.
A smoky reptilian chuckle drifted back up the tower after them and then they were gone.
