There was an excitement across Caido, and Sohalia was swept up in it: the Flowerbirth Ball was coming up soon - the event of the season, to be sure, and one that, for the first time, Soh would be able to participate in. She'd always heard of balls after the fact back in the Hollowed Grounds, her guardian too fiercely protective of her to allow her a foray into the festivities. But she'd always wondered what they would be like.
It was this wonder that drove her to Pacifist Plaza in Stormbreak. She roamed the markets, dressed today in a white shirt tucked into pretty pink skirts that swirled around her ankles as she walked. If she was going to attend a ball, she would need a dress. And it couldn't be just any old dress. It had to be something spectacular!
Now, Soh had never made a dress before, but she had some idea from the many books she'd read of how to go about it. Today's shopping trip would, hopefully, yield the fabric she required to make her very own ballgown. Sure, it might not turn out perfect, but it would be hers.
