The world grows purple - Sah - 07-02-2024

Sah was excited. He could feel the refreshed power of his crafting, but he had been too busy to use it so far this season. He'd been planning to upgrade his pup's weapons ever since he gifted them, and he finally could. The world was growing ever more dangerous once more, and he would do anything to protect his children. It was a blessing that he had the power to do so in this way. As LongNight came, he called the duo to meet him for dinner. The Wild Thunder eagerly awaited them after setting the table with Luka and Soleil's favorite dishes. One corner was left bare to give him space to work.

When they arrived, Sah hugged them tightly and requested that they hand over their weapons. Setting the crossbow and spear down on a cleared corner, the Wild Thunder called for this magic. In turn, each weapon glowed before settling back into itself with renewed strength. With a satisfied grin, Sah picked them up and presented the two to their respective owners, [say]"That should do it."[/say]

RE: The world grows purple - Soleil - 07-04-2024

It's been a strange season of growth for Soleil, and coming home feels particularly profound this time around. She hasn't adventured much this season given the circumstances so it's not like she has been gone excessively - considering she is quite happy to still live in their family home when she's in Halo - but it's always nice when they can meet around the table as a trio.

LongNight doesn't hold the same fear and trauma for Soleil as it does for others, and the empty blackness over the tundra is strangely beautiful when broken by the eternal glow of firelight from within the Citadel. Hugging her dad tightly when she arrives, she hands over her spear and leans over to prop her elbows on the table to watch him work his literal magic with eternally impressed eyes. It's so fast. Which is precisely why she had remained standing - not because she can hardly ever sit still or anything like that.

[say]"Thanks dad,"[/say] she murmurs warmly, slightly muffled with how her chin is plopped into her palm. Straightening, she moves into his space to press against his side and drop her cheek onto his shoulder. The gifts and increased protection are nice, but she only needs this - all three of them present and accounted for, with the uncertainties of their current world far enough away to forget for a moment.

RE: The world grows purple - Luka - 08-30-2024

Luka arrives not long after his sister - her presence obvious from the boots strewn carelessly in the general space for shoes, favored parka threatening to slip off the coat rack - and he snorts with tired affection as he toes the boots into place and fixes her coat into a secure position.

His own boots placed neatly where the melting snow won’t damage the floors, Luka enters the kitchen to receive his own hug that he sinks into for a prolonged moment. He’s tired from a day of manual labor requests around the Citadel, and here where the privacy of their family home allows him to open up, he has no reservations about seeking comfort and a bit of an energy boost in his dad’s arms.

Handing over his own weapon, Luka stays on his feet not only because it’s fast but because he’ll fall asleep on the dining table immediately if he doesn’t. When Soleil leans over their dad’s back he shuffles toward them and adds himself to the layer, ignoring his twin’s muffled complaint. [say]“Fireplace nap time?”[/say] It’s a grumbled suggestion, eyes already heavy. Beneath him he can hear his dad laugh and Soleil’s feigned objections silence immediately, both clearly sensing Luka needs some more family time. He’ll remember to thank his dad later - right now as they all straighten and shuffle into the living room to collapse onto the rug in front of the fire, he is more grateful for them than any magical item in the world.
