eyes like sinking ships - Flora - 08-03-2024

[say]"Seren gave me that orb thing of hers, so at least we don't have to go all over Caido collecting shit again."[/say] Flora is explaining as she and the Honeybee make their way through the sweating cavern walls and toward Frey's Breath. [say]"All she wanted in return was for me to have some ancients test out their abilities on it to make sure she hadn't missed anything during that testing you all did."[/say] It hadn't seemed worth arguing the point with her sister, not when the orb was going to save them so much time, but Flora was fairly convinced that the elements the ancients used had already been covered at the meeting.

Avoiding the clusters of lovers who pawed at each other on the warm rocks (not that Flora had a leg to stand on when it came to judging PDA in public, the queen glanced around before directing them towards as uncrowded a spot as they were likely to find.

[say]"I wonder if these flowers are going to become a thing."[/say] She murmurs under her breath as she sets down her bag on a nearby rock and removes the sheer wrap she had tied around her waist. Unlike last time, Flora's bathing suit is entirely appropriate for being in public: a one piece. [say]"Like if someone finds one, are they going to expect payment for it? Favours?"[/say]

RE: eyes like sinking ships - Melita - 08-03-2024

[say]“That’s nice,”[/say] she uttered, truly relieved by the thoughts of not having to journey for so long or so far with stowed away creatures or plants. It wasn’t the hunting portion that was an issue, but how time consuming everything could be. Melita was grateful to once again not have any involvement in government, or having to organize the shitshow. Brows furrowed in thought, she skipped along, unbothered by the Frey’s Breath heat, recalling how often they’d come here to collect those same flowers ages ago. [say]”Do the Ancients have different magic?”[/say]

She’d have to meet some sooner or later, besides sad sack Maea. But anyway - there were other things to fixate on. While she tied off the edges of her dress into something that wouldn’t be considered fashion, but practical for the moment, her jaw jutted upwards, mildly seditious at the particulars. [say]”But then you know someone could just beat their ass and take it.”[/say] She didn’t name any names, Flora would get the jist.

[say]"Right? Honestly, the last thing I ever want to do is collect another fucking daisy."[/say] Even if she and Melita had always found a way to make their chores exciting, the queen was a bit done with divine fetch quests for the foreseeable future.

[say]"Not that I'm aware of, but then..."[/say] Well, she didn't really know. There weren't any ancients on team Demigod or team Heckin' Powerful, but it really did seem like it was just basically fire and dark magic, right? All of which Deimos had covered, surely? [say]"I'll just have Danta or Isla blast at it for a while so I can tell Seren I did it."[/say]

Moving to sit on the edge of the pool, Flora puts one foot in slowly and then the other, sighing indulgently as her muscles seem to relax all at once. [say]"See, this is why I like you."[/say] She cackles, glancing at Melita over one shoulder and raising a brow approvingly. The state of the entire world was at stake, and while she couldn't exactly fault someone for trying to turn a bit of good luck into a bit of good fortune, nor should they be surprised when they were just strongarmed into doing what was expected of them.

The Honeybee shrugged, content with the answer of both non-fetching moments and Ancient prowess. [say]”Sounds good. Just as long as they don’t do dumb shit like Noah.”[/say] Presuming Flora had heard of the incredibly bizarre and stupid roaring incident. Perhaps Mel was still a little cross with the whole thing, what with recent dying and all that entailed.

She smirked in response. Ordinarily, she wouldn’t have been bothered by someone trying to get a leg up in survival and fortune: but with the world at stake, they didn’t really have time to be dicks about all of it. So she splashed at the water a little, sauntering in without a second thought. [say]”Hopefully we won’t have to wait long, anyway.”[/say]

Oh, Flora had heard; or rather she'd overheard her dads talking about it one night over dinner. Given that Noah was capable of genuinely killing Ronin, neither of the Taliesins was quick to forget about it. [say]"He did it to me once, too. I mean, I was invisible at the time, but...so many people have that ability, you'd think he'd have not gotten an ability that just fucks anyone over, y'know?"[/say] No doubt Mel did.

[say]"Mmm, here's hoping."[/say] Flora agrees, crossing her fingers in emphasis before slipping into the water to join the Honeybee.

Though no flowers are found, there is an entirely coincidental eruption of rubber duckies that leaves the majority of those swimming in the springs quite baffled and a little unnerved.
