i'm up and jaws are on the floor - Flora - 08-15-2024
Don't be fooled, Flora wasn't here to be a hero. If anything her motives were entirely selfish: if she brought a flower back to Torchline, then her region could say not only had they protected their people, offered up the most number of demigods for the cause, but they'd also delivered a flower. Whatever was to happen next, it couldn't happen without a bouquet of lilies or roses, and though Hadama had said he had a plan for one as well, it was going to take more than just one or even two to cleanse the world of the void.
But it would be a start.
[say]"Hi Rae, I'd like one of your lilies, please."[/say] Kneeling by the shrine, the Doubletake offered up some volcanic soil, fountain water, and several seeds compliments of Mateo. Closing her eyes, she didn't elaborate on her request, having already seen for herself how terse Rae could be and how disinterested in their plight the deity seemed. So, keeping it simple, she merely asked for a flower.
Pls roll for Rae and if not, using Flora's level 12 Big God reward!

Rae appears, hands interlaced and twin eyes locked upon the Doubletake. [say] "Our lilies hold great power."[/say] They say dispassionately, speaking at once. [say]"You know this, or you would not be here asking for one."[/say] Turning, they eye one another for a moment in silent conversation.
[say]"Bring us the things required to grow our lily and we shall grow you one."[/say] They say, listing the things necessary before disappearing.
Flora's level 12 reward was used!
Flora has been given a quest! She must:
1. Collect soil
2. Collect fertilizer
2. Collect water from Frey's Breath
3. Collect a pollinator

Having expected it just to be given to her, Flora nevertheless nods in immediate acknowledgement of Rae's instructions. Almost all of them seemed to be the sorts of things she could crowd source (looking at you, Talyson), such that the queen's first thoughts about her new quest were who she could ask to help her and how quickly they'd be able to do what she asked of them.
[say]"On it, thanks."[/say] The words are nearly mumbled to thin air given how quickly Rae departed, but it wasn't as if Flora was put off by this. Of all the gods and heralds at least Rae seemed to be a straight shooter; they didn't mince their words and didn't seem to play games. Certainly they weren't the sort of god Flora would ever follow , but she could appreciate it just the same.
Rising and dusting off her knees, Flora takes a breath before turning and marching to send off some letters.
