paled in comparison - Deimos - 08-21-2024

Once he’d finally returned home from a multitude of other errands, he rounded the familiar bend of the Citadel and came to the shrine. Mind focused on necessities at hand, he immediately kneeled and bowed his head at the dedicated eaves, beginning to place his offerings upon the inset columns; pearls in the haze and gaze of moonlit depictions and hues, some made to match the stars, some made to be conjured as the cosmos, all contrived and woven in a fanciful necklace, with a mirror to match.

Then a long breath unfurled. Ordinarily he might be full of trepidation or dread; but with the known conjectures at hand, with the knowledge of what was pending, and some plans already in place, his heart beat a steady drum instead. [say]“Safrin, thank you for the wisdom you granted in our previous conversation. It was beyond generous. Now we have something to focus on, and hopefully soon, we will have made more progress.”[/say] The distinctions were silent – in case anyone else was listening – but she’d be able to see the meetings in his mind, the scurrying of plans, the images depicted of flowers potentially being removed from staffs, of others wandering to Frey’s Breath. Even the springs now, finished and completed, capable of mending those inflicted.

Then, perhaps, to the necessities clambering about his machinations too – an inherent strife that if those gloves were lost, some tactics might be too. [say]“I was wondering if you would be willing to improve the tether to my gloves,”[/say] for while they were already grand, and he could achieve it on his own, her power would always be far more distinct and stronger.

[say]Deimos would like to upgrade:

Type: Grey | Style: Other | Level: Basic
Starlit Tether | An invisible strand of starlight that connects to the Gambler's Gloves. When activated it glows golden and returns the gloves to Deimos' hands within 10ft.

Regional Score bonus: +7 in all shrine visits, drops, PQ+s, KQs, etc. (You must post this at the bottom of any post where a +7 should be included)

[say]"You know you needn't bring me things."[/say] Safrin's voice is a soft purr as she steps out from a shadow, her lace gown instantly dusty with starlight that drops onto the stones as she moves. Pressing her fingertip against the surface of the mirror which ripples like quicksilver, she shoots the Sword an affectionately chastizing smile. [say]"I know how busy you are."[/say] She adds adoringly, before turning to face him properly.

Nodding silently, knowing his reasons for keeping his words careful, Deimos will feel Safrin's presence in his mind like warm tendrils of sunlight, streaking through and softly touching various memories before retreating again. [say]"A wise decision."[/say] She says simply, for precisely the same reasons, and rather than speaking, she whispers his instructions directly into his mind.

Deimos must

1. Complete 2 training threads using his gloves, where they're taken from him and he has to recall them
2. In2 threads, he must, from a distance of 20ft, somehow recall items back to himself.

Safrin’s appearance prospered a bout of a long breath from his chest, and a slight smile at her response, indicating that he likely would still be bringing gifts and offerings regardless. [say]“Even if you deserve them?”[/say] came along as the start of a joke and with a slightest wrinkle to his nose, before the words and instructions were compelled into his mind – quiet and regarded with absolution.

More training, more recalling – aspects he’d be able to conjure and apply readily, and hopefully quickly, depending on when they’d be advancing upon Starfall. [say]Thank you[/say] he ghosted through the Attuned conjectures, starting to promise upon returning swiftly, and then reconsidering it. [say]They will be done.[/say] came along instead, before nodding and bowing his head once more, and granting her space again as well – for he had no doubts the herald was also busy.
