more than just a short time - Alys - 11-16-2024
It had taken her a while, but here she was, returning to Frey with the fruits of her labor. She wasn't sure if she needed an offering this time, or if the items she'd procured from her quest would be enough, so just to be safe, she'd brought the last vegetable harvest of the season, grown in her own garden back in King's End and transported here on the Peregrine. She supposed she could have returned to Frey at any shrine, but it just seemed fitting to end her quest where it had begun: in Halo.
The seer placed her basket of fall vegetables in front of the shrine, then pulled the ring she'd worn constantly since its creation from her finger, placing it reverently before the basket. Kneeling, she began to speak to Frey, hoping they would return to see her now that her quest was complete. [say]"Hi, Frey,"[/say] she began. [say]"I've done as you asked and returned here with a ring. I know it's not exactly armor, but I thought it might work to make me more agile. Hopefully that works for you. Um..."[/say] She paused, waiting, then added for good measure, [say]"If it doesn't, I can go make something else, but, um, just let me know?"[/say] How did one go about turning in a quest? Was she doing this right?

Frey is nothing if not patient, and however long it has taken Alys to complete her quest, however many cycles and seasons have come around and gone, they appear as if it has been mere moments since she first approached them with
[say]"A very wise choice,"[/say] they tell her in a voice like a soft wind over the Tundra. [say]"I believe this will do nicely."[/say] Leaning in to blow on the ring, when they offer it back out to Alys it will appear as if the metal it's crafted from is constantly shifting and swirling, though it of course remains as solid as ever. [say]"I hope it treats you as well as you have treated it."[/say]
Alys has completed her quest and has received the following:
Quicksilver Ring | A ring that when worn grants +3 DEX. Must be included in all PQ/PQ+/KQ/DROP posts to be counted.

Alys was glad that she'd chosen Frey to appeal to for her first quest, for it seemed they were just as forgiving as Alys had always assumed based on what she'd heard about them prior to approaching. Despite how long it had taken her to complete her tasks, Frey didn't seem like they wanted to hold that against her, plucking the ring from where she'd left it. They brought it to their lips and blew, then offered it back to the seer.
Alys retrieved the ring reverently, a murmured thank you falling from her lips. She inspected the jewelry, which now shifted and swirled beneath her gaze, and slipped the trinket back onto her finger. Was it just her imagination, or did the metal feel a little warmer after having been blessed by a god? [say]"Thank you,"[/say] she told Frey, looking at them with a grateful smile. [say]"I hope I can work with you again someday. I will treasure this,"[/say] she added, wiggling her fingers so that the ring's metal glinted in the light.
Maybe the gods weren't so bad after all.
