She leans up to grab the blankets and lay them over the two of them, and Jata sighs contently as he relaxes into her arm, partially on her chest. He feels her kiss the top of his head and speak to him and for a moment he contemplates saying something else, but he can’t. He hears her response to him thanking her, but it’s distant and far away, hidden beneath the weight of exhaustion that rolls from his shoulders she so tenderly touches.
The next set of words she gives are unheard, as he falls fast asleep, head in the crook of her shoulder, lips nearing her neck as he dozes. Her sentiment and statement are quickly met with a soft snore, falling on exhausted ears.
