Never a soul to take the tread roads, the firecracker youth blended in between the unknown – steps light, airy, but miniscule in comparison to the depths where they wandered. Her eyes caught nothing, saw nothing, but her skin felt the brush of warmth. Immediately her heart wandered, her heart soared, her heart leapt, the heat pressing against senses, reminders of home - not Torchline, but where dragons roared and where the sand was red.
Could the pearl be there?
She turned into it instinctively, thriving on impulse, on impetuousness, on the inner boldness always clinging to her blood.

It was no surprise to the Sword that even in slumber, even in dreams, he was under threat to be swallowed whole – devoured and consumed by the earth. How many times had it happened now? How many times had he nearly perished, nearly faded, nearly driven himself entirely out of existence? Even now it was tempting, while the path began to erode, while it slunk and warned about giving way.
Maybe he let it. Maybe he should see what would happen. Maybe he should fall to pieces.
Except for wings, except for glory, except for things still tying him here.
He breathed, wondered about stabilizing the ground, wondered if he should care, and continued on the right path.

The scream had faded into the mist. Was he just imagining things, or had he gone in the wrong direction.
It was the smell of the trees that reminded Anden of home. The mist creeping through the branches was a sight he was familiar with. It meant the season of rain was fast approaching, but was it not the season of the Sun? So many questions, but not enough time to answer them all. The trees could only be a good omen, a sign of home. Surely Eloise would be somewhere amongst the trees - hopefully uninjured.
Anden rushes towards the trees.

Right before him, a chasm opens up. Oliver takes a brief moment to stare at it before offering a slight shrug. Oh well. He isn't in the mood to go flying right now and it seems too dark to provide anything fun inside.
Instead, he chooses to turn around. Shifting back down into his leopard form, he breaks out into a sprint, running right back to where he came from and instead of heading leftward hopefully. Maybe that direction would provide something fun? He sure hoped so!
And if not? He'd be fine with that too.
Oliver shifts back into a leopard and runs back in the direction he came from and heads down the left path instead, bored with what the right path provided.

I walk along until a group’a trees come out’a the mist an’ rise above me. For a moment, I pause an’ stare at them, their twisted trunks both beautiful and alien. I try to get close enough to touch one, feel if it’s solid. Not real-solid, but dream-solid. They are. I decide to press forward, into the copse of trees, hands outstretched to touch the trunks if I can.

There is no fear in this white place, not with Loki on her shoulder and her powers on her side. Every choice she makes is the right choice. This place is blind, but when have Wraiths ever needed to see? Soldiering forward, she steps with confidence, right in front of left, even when the ground begins to give way. For who or what can hurt the woman who can teleport? Whatever might lie at the bottom of that deep chasm might be interesting - so she thinks, but does not pause.
Loki, however, thinks it might be the perfect place to explore.

Falke frowns and shrugs again; perhaps this is to be a lesson in accepting the powerlessness of a situation. When he does not fly and indeed, the fog seems to grow thicker, the Fixer decides that he is simply going to stroll forward, choosing neither left nor right, but his own path. Binary choices are bullshit anyway, there’s always some variations of gray. Besides, he is used to the fog of Stormbreak and its cliffs. If death is what the whiteness hides (and somehow he doubts it - this is a drea after all), then he will meet Mort with open arms.

Ahead, he saw trees rise up. As he closed on them with his swift flight, he thought of what to do next. A few options seemed to be available to him - fly higher, over them; turn his path and fly around them, or; fly into then, and shift into something made for jungles.
He chose the third option, aiming his flight to coincide with a broad branch, shifting as he landed into something more feline. A clouded leopard appeared as feathers shifted spots, balancing on a branch high in the canopy. Sniffing at the air, he pushed onwards, navigating via the treetops, following the pull of the pearl.

A mental nudge, and suddenly before her an abyss opened up. Amaris hesitated on her path at the note from her companion, who flew without fear, singing his dragonsong into the gaping hole that the path skirted.
It reminded her of the Falling at home. Undaunted, the Blade merely checked each step she took, and pressed onwards, certain that this was the path to take, no matter the dangers of the road ahead.

Nothing impedes her journey, but neither does anything vital change around her. The arid scenery was stark and unforgiving to her eyes, cut from what could be ice, or marble, or just another illusion wrought by mist. When the warm wind touched her face, Seren leaned into its caress and smiled, reminded of home, the high skies, the vast ocean of Torchline. She turned away from the ice and kept walking.

Lena,
The trees grow thick and dense around you, branches clutching at your hair and the clothing you wear. It seems very intentionally trying to slow your progress. But is this a bad thing? Is it protecting you, or trying to keep you from your goal? The ocean roars ahead, somewhere...though there's no way to tell how far. What do you do? (Continue through the forest, double back, stray left/right, etc)
A warm wind buffets against you, threatening to push you into the blackness on your right. Do you continue on the path? Or move onto the rocky road to your left? (Or other, of course)
You rush toward the woods, seeing the ironwood brambles ahead. To your right is a path made of ice. Do you continue?
Straight ahead the world is stark and bright and cold. To the right of you there are warm winds, to the left, sheer ice. What do you do?
You're back at the beginning. Do you continue to go left?
Melita and Seren
The warm winds are comforting, and though they don't clear the mist that engulfs this place, they do bring the scent of the sea. However the longer you travel the stronger they get, slowly blowing you to the right. Do you try and continue straight, or let the winds take you?
The rocky path makes things slow going, but as a warm wind buffets against you, trying to push you into the blackness far to you're right, you think maybe you've made the right choice. Do you continue to stay where you are? Or do you try and turn into the warm winds to your left?
White gives way to black, and you fall. And fall. And fall.
The static evades your touch, or at least, your hand moves through the thick mist as you'd expect it to. The world continues to flicker around you.

As Loren left the ground he whooped with laughter. Although he began to tumble into the darkness, he smiled. And then his body began to shift and morph as feathers grew in place of skin.
Soon a goose appeared where the man had just been. He started pumping his wings, flying towards the darkness that waited for him below.
Loren shifts into a goose and flies towards the darkness.

When his fingers failed to capture one of the flecks, Amun frowned. Pouting, he stared at them as they continued to dance around him. Finally he sighed.
Then he resumed his trek through the flickering world. Forging ahead through the mist and the motes, he continued moving away from where the path split.
Amun continues moving backwards.

Grunting as the forest closed around him, Saiden cocked his head to the side as he heard the distinctive and familiar sound of the ocean in the distance. He started moving forward again. A cutlass appeared at his hip, and he used it to cut through any branches that resisted him. If the blade didn't help, he'd just try to push through the grove through sheer force alone.
Saiden continues moving straight through the grove.
