His hands flatten against the bar top, gaze lifting up to Nikolai as he mentions he looks like shit – it sparks a snort from Sunjata, a nod, the edge of a smile crossing his face. “[say]Thanks.[/say]” It’s sarcasm that drips from his tongue, but he still manages to stand, using the counter of the bar and the entry way to head upstairs to the owners quarters, a space he’d lived in for some time when he wasn’t in the basement of the establishment.
Nikolai’s words have him pausing, turning to face the Ascended as his hands remain on the edge of the railing of the stairs – the steel of his gaze showing just how exhausted he was. A hand comes up and waves off the kid, as if it weren’t any big deal, but when he continues and says he’ll try to be nice to Nate it brings up a lot more focus, the smile a bit wider and toothier. “[say]Trying is good enough.[/say]” He offers quietly, before he dips his head in understanding, and an unvocalized ‘thank you’, before he slips up the stairs to pass out.
