RE: raise the bar - Melita - 05-27-2023

Ah, she was glorious and triumphant, a beaming grin on her features as she shimmied beneath the fiery rope, turning back to watch, and survey the competition –

Only to see him fall. And Tanau help him. And say the courier handed her a victory.

Her eyes narrowed, brow furrowing. [say]“Jackass,”[/say] she mumbled quietly, on a hiss, somewhere in the midst of all her success, feeling slightly put out. She’d conquered certainly, but to have it given to her?

It read more like a slap in the face.

The ignition going out of her win quickly, she only offered Tanau a slight smile, and Talyson nothing at all. [say]“Thank you for hosting this,”[/say] she uttered to the seasonal deity, before stepping back and away.

RE: raise the bar - Talyson - 05-30-2023

In spite of his best efforts Tal felt himself toppling backwards and then his fall suddenly... stopped? Arms of gentle fire cradled him and kept him more or less from taking a complete pratfall.

Physically, at least.

Tanau's 'helpful' assurance had the courier reddening as he looked frantically to Melita's narrow-eyed countenance and back to the god pleadingly. "Huh? But I didn't--!"

But it was, it seemed, too late. The Honeybee wouldn't even look at him and the courier gave Tanau a wounded glare and no thanks at all for making him look even worse in front of someone he'd wanted to impress.

Hangdog, he shuffled back over Alys with a mumbled: "C'n I give you a lift home?"
