A soft chuckle escaped from Eternum as he watched Sola stand, her laughter ringing in the air. His chest heaved with exertion, the playful scuffle having drained him more than he had anticipated. He tried to push himself up, to meet her eagerness with his own, but his arms felt weak. He couldn't deny the disappointment that coursed through him.
"I...I give up."
He held up his hands in a gesture of surrender, falling back onto the snow with a soft thud.
"You've bested me.”
Despite the defeat, he couldn't help but feel like he’d gotten a good workout out of this.
