You're moving without moving - Flora - 07-09-2024
As someone whose time was too often wasted by those who felt the need to offer pleasantries and prolonged greetings as a segue into the conversations which inevitably would follow, Flora had always done her best not to take up more of her goddess's time than was strictly necessary. So, having arrived, the Doubletake lit several of Safrin's candles before placing her offering upon the herald's altar: a bit of cloth that she'd placed out in the sun using a special chemical bath so that the light would burn the image of the flower she'd laid over it, onto the material.
[say]"Hello Safrin. I finished the quest you gave to me. Also I had this weird dream about Starfall? And I'm going to meet with Dahlia, the Family's leader, but I promise I'm not switching sides."[/say] Just getting intel, she thought silently, just in case someone like Vox was lingering around.

Appearing in a small rush of starlight, Safrin folds her arms comfortably across her chest as she gazes down at the Doubletake. [say]"My, my, and to think some appear before me and are speechless."[/say] Arching an eyebrow, Safrin holds out her hand, palm up, empty. Closing her fingers, when she opens them, two golden rings sit on her outstretched palm.
[say]"Well, best of luck in everything that you do."[/say] The goddess purrs softly, and as she deposits the rings into Flora's hand, she gives her queen's fingers a soft squeeze. [say]"Don't do anything I wouldn't do, mmm?"[/say]

Closing her fingers around the rings, Flora met Safrin's eyes for just a moment as she nodded. Whatever was being communicated, either implicitly or not, the Doubletake was listening. Besides, it wasn't like Safrin was known for giving out bad advice anyways, right?
[say]"Never."[/say] The queen purrs as she rises. [say]"If all goes well, I'll be back shortly. I've got a man who wants to talk to you about a ship."[/say] It's Jack, of course, and Safrin will likely already know that it's Jack in virtue of the large section of her thoughts that the captain occupies these days.
[say]"But until then, thanks. You're the best."[/say]
With a wink, Flora slipped her new rings onto her fingers before disappearing down the lighthouse's staircase.
