This is Samuel; I know you're probably wondering where I suddenly disappeared too, after the last time you saw me I was ill. I can't tell you too much about it, but something went horribly wrong; I had to return home for the foreseeable future and I am unsure if I can return to Torchline within any kind of predictable time scale.
I wanted to write you a letter to thank you, first and foremost. For taking me in, for caring for me and for being so kind to me. No one has treated me as well and fairly as you, and you helped me to value myself for the first time in my life. Even when things were hard or awkward you were gentle and fair and I could not have expected that from anyone in Torchline when I first moved there.
You mean a great deal to me and I would love for you to visit, every so often, if you can handle being in a place as dreary as the Grounds. I will be in my bookshop in Sanctuary; anyone on the street will be able to give you directions.
My time living with you was some of the best in my life. Thank you. I wish you and Vervain every happiness and I hope you know just how much of a special man you are.
