Isla
Thankfully it isn't pity that Ever takes from her remarks, because pity was never offered, and Isla willingly surrenders herself to the aviator's arms. Luckily this isn't her first time cuddling, and she adjusts herself as best she can so that no one has to wake up with a cramp in their calf or a dead arm, letting her head rest comfortably against his chest and her eyes start to drift shut with the fatigue of the very well fucked.
And while Everest rolls the dice and lands squarely on LOVE, Isla doesn't not feel similarly. The difference, of course, is that having been burned and tempered by affection in the past, her feelings are a lot slower to ignite, like kindling in the rain. Rest assured though, Ever - there's an ember burning there, and given a little patience, it's sure to catch.

I'll take a bruise, I know you're worth it
When you hit me, hit me hard
When you hit me, hit me hard
